I want soc 999... Why not? Diecast engine and caboose and rest around ten cars as accessories. Its def doable and i for one would buy one if priced around 200 Why stop there? Actually make it compatible with an existing model railroad scale! And include a straight piece of railroad to put it on...with a ramp on the other end, and you could display taking off...and you could hang the whole thing on a wall!

It's nice and all, pricey too, not a dealbreaker though as I love this version of the ship but.... where is the g*d@mn blade Bandai??? I really hope there's an incredibly well concealed gimmick there, really

I really hope there's an incredibly well concealed gimmick there, really You know, I don't remember the blade ever being used by this version of Arcadia. Also there are several kits of the 999, but looks like the most satisfying package would be this with this. Or this and this if you prefer the TV version. And yes, that's a lot of money you're looking at there. But hey, it's N-scale!

Damn, looks like you're right, its seems the blade is only used on the older version of the ship. So Aoshima got that wrong too... I wish Bandai's version had it too though, as the Aoshima looks awesome with the blade on, this one would have knocked the Aoshima out of its socks! Still hesitating on the preorder, it's so pricey but if there's one "Soul of Brick" I should have it's definitely this one

Those N-Scale can be had cheaper than what you see on Hobby Search but they are no doubt pricey. Micro-Ace tends to specialize in these unique designs and their production runs are much smaller compared to other n-scale manufacturers which further increases the price. Funny thing is, in my experience, Micro-Ace doesn't make the best product but yet they are often the most expensive.

The knife apeared in the blue arcadia from the classic tv animated series Then the green Arcadia came after that in late 70s and that one didn't have the knife and had the huge skull in the front Then in 2003 the arcadia apeared again as the green version in the modern animated ova but this time it had the knife in animation and a little smaller skull in the front The SOC is based on the second arcadia but Aoshima have done all 3 versions! You can get the green Aoshima Arcadia with no knife as well ! You just need to know which version are you getting

You know things would be a lot easier if someone actually made a comparison of all the Aoshima Arcadia variants. You know Aoshima loves variants but I can't find any resource that would tell me what the difference between all of them is! Also "Maetel Legend" has the original version, but in green! Also I'm not surprised, I think the 2003 Harlock series is now the only one I haven't seen yet.

Thanks chogokinabdul! And I wasn't even aware there was a 2003 Harlock OVA. Is it worth seeking out and watching? Well I guess there goes my last gripe with this release, I'll have to PO it now... and there goes the remains of my 2014 toy budget too!

No problem man, as for the ova I am a pro leiji matsomoto guy and I love all of his work so I would say yes the ova worth checking for the sake of story and harlok but there wasn't that much of breath taking animation though

Looks like most of the major retailers in Japan have this for pre-sale but Amiami looks to have the lowest price. Anyone see a better price than Amiami please post.

Looks a bit front heavy, doesn't it? Yes, and that's disappointing... Aoshima put much more diecast in his Arcadia

The Aoshima probably has a higher diecast percentage but it is significantly smaller and has no electronics. The Bandai one has less diecast percentage but is bigger and has more features. I doubt it's to nose heavy since I'm guessing the electronics are in the back half.

They show that amount of Die Cast as if they are prowed of it !! that is too little Die Cast !! especially for the price!!
