That's because it hasn't been announced - but a version of it with a gold chromed crest was displayed along with Daitarn and Trider, so I'm pretty positive he'll be coming down the line. Its possible they were just displaying the Gx-23A Zamboace gold crests that came with him for zambot.. Well, crap. Although I do find it a bit odd that in the display with the DX stands, they only used the chromed crest but not the wing, I find this perfectly believable since Zambot 3 was just reissued last year.

Yeah this is true because even though chrome is shown as white in anime, you'll notice his chrome bits are rendered in silver and the white is actually just that...white. I would be down to have a white limbed SOC To be honest, I think it is a missed opportunity, this new Daitarn 3's arms and legs should have been white color. Then it would be closer to anime accurate. Great point! Many people forget that the very first release of the vintage DX Daitarn 3 by Clover was a white leg version - and it looks great. Later releases were changed to standard silver (metal) legs, and the Sunrise Taiwan versions of the same toy also had the silver legs.

Just picked this guy up. This should really be called the GX-53R and not GX-65. Like others have mentioned, skip this if you already have the GX-53 unless you really like the colors.

Anyone dropping their preorders? I really like the design of this mecha but I have no emotional attachment to the character itself, so I dropped my pre-order from BBTS... It's still available at a lot of sites so I may pick it up if ever it goes on sale...

if you are not a completist.. you can skip the GX-65 if you already have the GX-53.. except for the display stand and tiny mecha patrol-cars.. not much differences.. just the color.. in my opinion, GX-53's color is much more eye catching particularly in the silver above the shoulder.. and i still prefer the regular yellow orange crescent in 53's forehead than the 65's gold chrome..

What's the difference in the patrol cars? I haven't really compared the old ones from the new.

Actually, the GX-53 includes those 3 small patrol cars in different modes as well. The only differences are the colors, the stand and the box.

oh man.. is that so... must check my 53's box if it's there, can't really recall where did i put those tiny patrol cars.. if it is included in the 53, just checked my display cabinet for the 53's "rubberized tank threaded armory" if the tiny patrol cars were there.. but none.. must be inside the box...

Well I finally got mine. Since I never owned the GX-53, my only comparison point is the old CDX review (did Gold make one too? I can't remember), and two things I noticed on my specimen that definitely differ from what the CDX review implicated. One is the buuilt-in posable hands; according to the review, the GX-53 had no release mechanism to pull them out of the forearms, but on my GX-65, I have the exact opposite problem; they're so loose that they're difficult to keep *in*. Not a problem if you're using one of the alternate fists, but I can see this being an issue in tank mode. Another is that the shoulderpads are also rather loose, but this simply means they will not be scraping the red die cast chest, which is good. EDIT: All of which turn out to be bollocks because then I actually go back and read those reviews and turns out I was not only referring to the wrong review (it WAS Gold's) but I recalled many of the details wrong; in other words, yes, the GX-65 does seem to suffer a lot of the same issues as the GX-53 did. I'm kind of disappointed they didn't take the opporturnity to fix some of these issues. Also, when disconnecting the hips from the waistplate, all I broke was a fingernail.

The wait for this figure is killing me. I hope BBTS gets theirs by end of May. Amazon officially has a May 21st release date.
