Its already lame when they included general franky into the series Yeah, somebody up there at Bandai is.........confused. LMAO GX-66 will probably be a Gunbuster repaint for those who didn't get a chance to get him a few years back

As it was often said whenever Bandai revealed yet ANOTHER Mazinger Z: Bandai hates you.

A Gunbuster re-release would not be bad at all. But the Daitarn is not that old! How about a re-release of the GX-01R+, huh?!!! }D

I missed out on the gx-53, so I guess this is good for me. What do you guys think this will do to the value of the gx-53?
Companies reusing molds years latter annoyes me. I guess this case they at least have the anime accurate excuse but still. Why the new gx#?

I still don't get it why make a recolor of Daitarn 3 as a GX-65.... they never did that to other previews figures like other figures like the GX-01 and 02 which had some small mold alterations or color change which end up been called R or R+ as well other figures that had some minor changes in color or new parts and just called them in a different name but still the same number.

I missed out on GX 53 as well, so I will probably get it ... I will need to watch the Daitarn anime to get excited about this release though

Of course Ill be buying this. My take is that if the crest is done in gold, so should all the other yellow parts, but I can see how that would look dumb. I kind of prefer the look of the repaint, looks a little more lively. Although in the end numbers dont matter, consistency does so that it makes sense. Should be an "R" at the end or something. Otherwise just get rid of the numbering.

When I first saw the preview pics with the multi figure display and the new stands I did not like this figure.
Now that I see it next to the old release, it definitely pops a lot more with the new blue like chachipower said. The crest being that funny gold is still not great in my eyes - I think it is too dark, maybe lighter gold would have been better.
Definitely considering getting this now, as I don't want to pay insane $$$ for the original release. Hopefully they will add more or keep the same accessories rather than take any away.

Well, at least I have another shot at getting Daitarn-3. I missed the first release entirely and the secondary market price is now skyrocketing to the roof... He's usually around 23k on Mandarake, I don't think that's too bad - problem is actually finding him in stock there! I honestly prefer the original, "cartoony" paintjob, never been a big fan of chrome, plus it's in line with the Sunrise super robots we already have. I'll probably keep my eyes open for the original unless I really just can't get it and this winds up being dirt cheap.

Was originally keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that GX-65 would be SOC Albegas. Add another year to my life and around this time next year, I will have my fingers crossed again. =/

Funny that I have the original release and its still in a shipping box all this time. And we are getting a repaint already. To be honest, it took me quite a while to even tell the difference except the obvious gold crest on the head. I like the new lighter blue, but the difference is very minor. And this is not the occasion where I favor the gold parts. I like it with yellow plastic better, with more of the anime look.
It is indeed strange to give it a new number, instead of a GX-53R. Maybe Bandai realized they have fewer SOC releases lately, but want to keep the numbers moving so they don't look like they are letting the toyline die off slowly, as many of the folks had felt before news of General Franky & Tryder G7 had surfaced.

Hopefully this drives down the price of the original version. I saw the old one at a store selling for a decent price and I might be getting this coming January. Though if this is priced lower than the original version then I'll just buy the newer one. I've been wanting another Daitarn 3 chogokin for a while since I did have the clover Daitarn 3 when I was a kid.
