Decided to pick up the GX-53 today instead of the recolor since I got a good deal for one at $160. I like the brighter color of the newer one but I kinda prefer the regular yellow horn of the old one.

That's a good price gravewolf...Congrats on a great find... Thanks bro Still it took a long time before I got this soc and I have to say it was worth it. I know it's tall but I'm happy to see it's a little taller than my soc Daltanious. The previous owner really took care of it since it has no scratches and I can believe this has not been transformed because all of the spots where the paint chips because of transformation are all intact. I probably won't transform this either as I don't really like the weird tank and jet modes. I was hesitating in buying this cause I was planning to buy another set of speakers but I realized it was hard to find this soc at this price and that the speakers can wait for a while.........maybe after I also get that Tryder.......and that upcoming soc Gaogaigar.......and that Godmars.....and that.......oh nevermind

I actually like the original color better overall. The darker colors make it look more serious and blends in better with the rest of my SOCs, since they all tend to have very dark blues. The only color that I felt is a little off is the yellow (both original and repaint), as it is a lot more orange than it is supposed to. Even the boxart photos have the yellow more yellow than the actual plastic. And I wonder why the repaint didn't do anything to correct that, but updated almost everything else. In bright light, the yellow still look yellow enough. But at night with dark lighting, all the yellow parts became orange. Transformed it once for all modes. I like the Fighter mode enough, even though its a pretty odd looking jet. But the tank mode is really not that fun. Feels like a part former with the wings, backpack, and the treads. Robot mode is still the best. One little trick I found to keep the hands from getting stuck inside the arms in GX-53, is to rotate the hands 90 degree before retracting them into the lower arm. At that angle, it glides very loosely in & out. And since it will be covered by the extra plate or backpack (except tank mode), you won't even see the rotated hands' difference.

Got my Daitarn last week. Cool figure and the colors are great. He's much shorter than I expected. But fun fact, the ebay seller "correlations" sucks! No packing material whatsoever!

I've filed a dispute. He offered $10 or to return it at my own expense. I'm debating what to do. Since he offered those two terms, I don't know that ebay would step in and help at all. I did get a good deal on it, $177 shipped (auction ended at $117, but he had shipping cost set at $60). This is my first time getting a package like this and it's really a drag. I don't need mint packages but this thing barely holds the toy inside and really devalues the piece well below what I paid for it.

Man that looks uglier than... ugh And he offered 10 dollars? Only 10 bucks? That's shameful, he should have given you a perfectly, or almost perfectly, packaged Daitarn. That's barely a box, it doesn't even hold itself together!

If the picture in the listing looks completely different from the actual condition of the item you received (due to the poor shipping job) continue with the dispute.
Work with eBay/Paypal and do not contact the seller directly unless they tell you to do so.
I would expect a refund of at least $40 or more, or conduct the full return with tracking through eBay/Paypal, get your money back and ask that you be reimbursed for return shipping. The item is no longer as described due to the seller's lack of care for an expensive item, not because the postal service damaged it.
Did you buy it internationally? If it came from the US the $60 shipping cost plus the circumstances would have kept me from buying. If it is international, tell them you want a partial refund of $60 or greater because of the large cost you would incur returning it.

Yeah, that's downright insulting - it's even worse than when HLJ gave me nothing but a 5% coupon after I received a book soaked in water from them.

Yeah I bought it from Taiwan... my mistake... I have had great luck with overseas purchases so far. But now I will be more cautious.
I asked for $40 partial refund (through an ebay case I opened... not just a message) and even said I would leave positive feedback if he refunded me $40 and he snapped back "just return it for a refund." But if I'm going to get saddled with return shipping cost, no way am I going to do that because then I'm out of pocket likely $50 to send to Taiwan with tracking and will have no toy.
This is the first time I've really had to dispute anything on ebay. Sucks. But I certainly am not accepting $10 partial refund. It is downright insulting, like you said tetsuryu.

What a freaking douchebag! Bro! Ebay abd Paypal will most likely take the easy way out and tell you to send the figure back - and you will be out if return shipping (happened to me). I would get your credit card involved right away! Credit cards don't mess around... }D

Credit cards don't mess around... }D Unfortunately I think I used my paypal balance to pay for it.... yeah my worry is that ebay will say hey, he offered a return, take it. But being out return shipping is unacceptable. I'd rather have this janky box than be out shipping cost and have nothing to show for it. If that's the case I won't even take the $10 out of foolish pride.

Damn this really sucks! I am sorry this happened to you.
Recently, I purchased a Zambot 3 off Ebay. However, when I received it, the entire box, including ALL contents smelled like cigarettes. It was as if the thing grew inside a tobacco plant, no joke, unbearable.
So, I opened a claim through Ebay, seller offered a full refund, but said I had to pay for return shipping. (Shipping cost $30 USD) So I tried to continue disputing, communicating through Ebay and not the seller.
The end result? Ebay ruled a full refund with me having to pay for return shipping. So technically, I paid $30 just so I can have a bad experience.
I know my case is not the same, but I feel if you continue to dispute this, Ebay will close the case with you having to return the item (At your cost), for a full refund.

Thanks for sharing and sorry you had a bad experience too. I'm worried the same thing will happen if I escalate the case.
What's weird is that the ebay money back guarantee says the seller is responsible for return shipping, but I think that is for all cases of item not as described except for shipping damage. I may be SoL here. If he was a US seller and shipping was just going to cost $15 I'd eat it and just kick myself for taking a stupid chance on a Japanese seller. But with shipping something like this so costly, I can't have that.

The failure to pack and secure the item properly caused the item to incur damage and the shipping service can't be blamed for that. The sellers negligence caused you to receive an item that was not as described because it no longer matches the condition it was in when you purchased it based on the listing description and the pictures.

Oh I agree. Though it does look like the post office did damage the package because I think all that USPS priority tape was added by them to reseal the package. But there was definitely negligence in using no packing material. I'm just worried that if I escalate the case I will lose the option to keep it and HAVE to return it and possible pay for shipping. If I knew return shipping would be covered, I would send it back in a heartbeat. I sent the seller one more message, asking again for $40 partial refund, which I think is very reasonable, or if there was any insurance on the package. The other thing about this is it looks like the package was ripped into directly. The rips are so big and even go down into the inner box within the art box. I plan to call ebay tomorrow or friday and talk to someone before doing anything else. Unless of course he gives me the $40, in which case I'll just accept that I have a good Daitarn with a ruined box for $137.

This sucks. I agree $10 is an insult. Hope you can get a better refund than that measly $10! It's not fair at all. WTF Ebay!
