There's also a review on HLJ's hobbytv, but since they're associated with a store selling the damn thing, I'm inclined to take what they say with a grain of salt.

No worries. CDX will probably do a video review for it as soon as they get one.

Good news: There's a video review! Bad news: It's in Japanese. Man, as much as I want one, I guess I'm going to have to pass on this one in favor of Ultimetal Prime and SOC Goldy Marg. I wonder if they'll look into making the Dancouga Nova next? Gold

Wow had no idea how small these guys were. I'd hate to know what sentinel would have wanted for the set if it was the size of the SOC.

Just collected mine yesterday. Only took a single picture, did not play around much, i just transform the 3 vehicles, combined with the main body and straight to the display cabinet. Second picture from the top robotjapan.proboards.com/post/360363First impression, its small, probably half the mass of the SOC one, but strangely, i like this size better. Transformation is simple, even for me. You only need to transform 3 vehicles i.e the head, left and right feet (please forgive me, i dont know their names, i just like this super robot thats all). And then combine them with the main body which is fully combined out of the box. The neck of the head is quite flimsy (it does come with a spare untransformable head with a different expression) mainly because its really small, so be careful when you are fiddling around with it. Accessories wise, the main gun is well built and easy to combine, the international version like mine, comes with 3 diecast guns. The back pack with two cannons (there, i dunno the name ) is quite lightweight and plasticky, but plus point is it wont exert too much force on the robot when you pose them togather. For those who are curious about its connectivity with black wing, i can confirm there are 3 holes at the back of dancouga, which could connect with black wing using a connector. The reason immentioned connector is because there are not pegs on black wing itself if you look at the official pictures. The adeptor in question might probably be part of the black wing display stand which could be taken out. However, with no official notice from sentinel, what i say is just a theory, although my local retailer (who happens to deal directly with sentinel) confidently predicts both dancougar and black wing can combine to give us final dancouga. In conclusion, i am pretty please with the robot. However, the price tag is a big sticking point. For a slightly lower price, i can even buy a misb soc dancouga locally.

So I'd sworn this off, but the black wing is really making me think about picking it up... I have the original SOC release. Would you guys who own both say it's worth it?

I have both versions. But i have to say i prefer the sentinel version. Less transformation/complex and a more compact figure for me despite its steep price. Should it be able to combine with black wing to give us final dancouga eventually would be the icing on the cake

Thanks for the feedback. Normally I'd just go for it, but $400 is making me have to think a bit. Geez. do you have a side-by-side of the two?

cool comparison. if i didnt have GX-13 already, i would have gotten myself sentinel's version.. i cant afford getting a double of a same character moreso that the price is that steep. how i wish they did Nova instead... i would get that in a heartbeat.

So I'd sworn this off, but the black wing is really making me think about picking it up... I have the original SOC release. Would you guys who own both say it's worth it? I was a little disappointed in the size of the Metamore Dancouga, but the articulation and the posing ability of the fully assembled Dancouga is much better than the SOC version. I personally do not think it's worth $400, but if you can afford it, and it won't be too much of a hit on your finances, it might be fun to get. But If I had to pick between the two,or could only own one, I'd probably go with the SOC Version.

I have both Bandai GX-13R and Sentinel Dancouga, and I must say I prefer the SOC. Mainly it is due Bandai' size, and clean design. If you prefer a simpler, cleaner, more accurate to the animation (Not Obari), stick with the SOC. Although Sentinel's version is highly detailed and modernized in engineering, it is not worth $400+.
For its size tho, it does have a good heft to it.
I might just sell mine.

Thank you, guys. Also, have there been any talks or specualtion about a Nova? If so, I'm definitely passing on this for it.

I have both the SOC version and the Sentinel version. I prefer the individual components on the SOC but as a combiner, it doesn't hold a candle with Sentinel. The Sentinel version has awesome articulation and is a lot more dynamic representation. Of course, Sentinel's offering represents the latest engineering technology, explaining its advantage over the SOC version. I do hate the fact that the cannons attached to the wings don't swivel down on the SOC version. Why even bother with the canons then if you can't use them in the combined version?
Bring on the Blackwing!
