Or not ENOUGH liberties. Cause that one's proportions just scream "Obari" at me. Ehhh... I may need to re-watch a couple of episodes, but I don't recall Dancouga having little "baby" hands in the anime. And Obari designed it for the anime, right? Then again, it may have baby hands in the anime. I can't remember. }D

Of course you would have to make the top hand details ..

Looks like Gigabrain's version of Dancouga is based more on Obari's later style (instead of the mid 80s style of Dancouga, when he's still young). His later style, well, it's something else (something that Baron might..you know). He also did that Dai Mazinger design never seen the light of the day. Oh my! That crotch thrust!

So it will come with 2 heads? Transforming and show accurate? Gold I think it was to show off the two facial expressions. Oh, I see. Thanks. Gold

Then again, it may have baby hands in the anime. I can't remember. Well he was the mechanical designer, not the chief animator. From the little I've seen, Dancougar still has that distinct mid-80's look.

I was digging the initial prototype pics, but The more pictures I see of this Dancouga, the more I'm not wanting it. I still think Bandai's SOC version is the best rendition.

I think it's the paint job that I'm not digging. Makes it look a little cheap to me (even though Sentinel is not known for pricing their figures cheaply). For the price point I'm predicting ($200 - $300), I'd stick with my Bandai SOC's. But this is just my opinion. Which is the true beauty of this hobby. There is always something for everybody.

Looks very nice. I do hope Sentinel adds a little more color detail to the tank threads. They look horribly plain like that! }D

I understand. I either will get GX-13 or this version, still undecided. I see the yellow parts on his chest are quite different compared to GX-13 and in the anime, no?

To me, it looks good, good sculpt overall... but I do feel losing a little details and shape after they color it. It doesn't look as sharp as before. It is now looks like a small well details action figure, instead of an expensive die-cast collection figure . Possible during its 'smallish' size (it is relatively smaller than SOC version).

Imo the problem comes from panel lines (gap), they are too much large and gives : they are downscaling this giant robot and put the toy much like a figure Than a gokin robot with transformation engineering. Edges are a bit rounded too... Maybe this is a production version, not final toy ? Overall design is great and much closer to a dynamic anime character/robot.. Posing is probably one the primary choices from the designers.
