I will rather have it as a stand, than having no stand at all. But like you said, it is going to be very small.

100% agree! It is going to look great anyway, even if it's SRC sized. }D

I'm thinking the whole thing is under 4" tall and the metal is in the Brain Condor only with the head plastic. As is I might bite, I like the sculpt and it would be nice if this was a ongoing line and not just end with Maz.

With the cost like this.. the whole thing seems pretty small. And I can't help to compare with this - almost cost the same, but a lot nicer.

Yeah I personally like busts then head sculpts. Give you more freedom since the docking gimmick is a Maz family only deal what do you do with the Getters or Grendizer or whoever.

You are absolutely right, but at the same time what can we do? Unless Hot Toys start making busts of our favorite super robots, we have to accept or decline what other companies do offer to us. On second tough, knowing ET's pricing, I shudder to think how much a bust about the size of Hot Toys' Iron Man would be priced at.

IDK... I wouldn't pay $71 for that Iron Man bust, or any non-super robot busts. It is once again a matter of preference. As far a "niceness", I think the ET one is just as spot-on as the Hot Toys one. They are just different characters with different amounts of detail. Can't ask for too much detail on Great Mazinger/Brain Condor, because there isn't much on the character to: begin with. }D

Unless you are 3Zero, which will create a highly detailed "close to real robot" that is nothing like the original character costing north of $300. Which in turn ends up polarizing half the collectors/fans.

Exactly. Nothing like the original character. Other than Fewture's Super Robots, I stay away from "imaginative designs" like the plague. If they can't come up with an original character/figure, and all they can do is come up with highly distorted copies of established ones, then I just don't $upport them.

Guys, I get it totally. Of course we are talking about making a toys for an animation robot from 70s... Details? Design? who are we kidding, right? But that is not my point. I am talking about a 'toy'. A modern (toy) figure that made by today's standard. 10000 yen is not cheap for such a small 'head' thing. Let's say there are many things that EVOLUTION TOYS (or other toy companies) could have done to enhance the 'experience' - such as they could include a nice small display stand with a shinny name tag on it, just like some older SOC... the eyes can add light-up feature. Another things that yet to be seen until release, such as good die-cast content, good paint app and packaging etc. I am not saying this Great Mazinger head figure is bad, all I am saying is - it could be better! for the love of robot god!

Do not be surprised if Great Mazinger's head is made of plastic.

Head looks great and all but I feel that the super robot designs are a little bit too simple for head displays.
