As fans its really frustrating to see our beloved characters get buried under some copyright laws, and I don’t think it’s a good idea to reboot Golion anime show at least not under this circumstances, but it will be good to see the original staff do an OVA for him That may not be possible, because Toei sold all their GoL--n rights (along with a few other robots) to Weppie. ("Weppie" = W. E. P.) ( Note: I'm trying to avoid spelling out Weppie's and V___'s full name, to prevent drawing Wep's attention to this board. I'm paranoid like that. Last year Wep tried to stop the MA-01 VV from being sold, but it was already too late as several units got sold in the U.S.; therefore Wep tried to b*tch about it on Facebook, accusing the MA-01 of being a bootleg counterfeit item. I don't want Wep to get involved and pull the same stunt on King Of Beasts. As for the MA-01... Oh well, for being a "bootleg counterfeit" item it sure has its high place in this hobby's history: on my display shelf! ) ---------------- BTW, I wanna make it clear that I'm NOT bashing "V-ltr-n" fans. I understand some of you folks had never seen the G-Lion series in its original version. You only know "V_tr_n, Defender Of The Univrs", because that's how the anime was presented to you here in the U.S. I know, I remember, because I used to watch that Vltrn show on TV when both robots (L-V, and V-V) aired here in the U.S. in '82-'83. At the very end of the final credits, you'll notice Toei's name was left in there-- ---I recognized "Toei", because of the Mazinger-Z series TV show; therefore I started researching and that's how I found out the truth about Vltrn's background origin. If you ever find the original Japanese series version with English subs, grab it. That version is uncensored, all complete episodes, with the character's names intact. zozo-mag I was like when i found out how heavily voltron was edited in the Us version luckily I got a DVD of the original Japanese release with Eng sub, it was so different and much much enjoyable, there is also a second release when WEP go the rights that was much awful than the original edited show from every angle specially the drawing so if you want to love Golion watch the original 52 episodes show

Remember that tin box edition v-ltr-n DVD set at Walmart a few years ago? When that set was coming out on release I was like "okay, I'll pick it up just for nostalgia sake"...
...took it home, watched some of it (the Blue Lion tin); and then I began to watch the Director's Comments in the Extras section, and Wep was discussing how they acquired the rights to the G-lion series and blah blah blah blah and how they thought they were actually getting Daltanius but wound up with L-V and V-V instead and blah blah blah--- (at this time, a massively loud long Yawn...)
---I swear I couldn't yank the DVD out of my player fast enough, by then my blood was already boiling mad. The defining moment. The pinnacle of my deep hatred for Wep. I later took the DVD to a pawnshop and traded it for some skinny dollar-store Kung-Fu DVDs.
Years later I was all chilled out, forgot about that stress, until a new menace appeared: Wep in korporate form, with their mad attempts to kill off the MA-01 VV... somehow they had managed to kill off any pre-orders for the MA-01 VV here in the U.S. (if I remember, they yanked it from pre-order at BBTS) And then came their Facebook rants against the MA-01, they just Would Not S T F U... calling out the MA-01 as a bootleg and such. I was seeing Red again.
---------------
So..... now here we are, looking forward to this King Of Beasts. I love it, I think it's a beautifully crafted work of art for its unique looks and sculpt, and I think it is definitely a Collectors' Grade item for all the work that is being put into it. By its design and functionality, it's a very thoughtful specimen.
The MA-01 VV came into existence from that same style and approach, and for being the first of its kind it was surely a very good effort by it's manufacturer......... ....I think this time, after Designing lessons learned, Mad Toys*** is handling this product in a very carefully thought-out process with good results. ***I have a wild-guess who Mad Toys is, but it's just my wild guess. In any case, I congratulate them for moving forward with this product.
At the same time, I'm also nervous that Wep might somehow get word about the King Of Beasts... and they might try to kill this item. That's the evil of a korporation who monopolizes a toy/anime franchise. I expect Wep might try to jump in and interfere with this product. If they do that- I would be soOo pissed that I would certainly troll their Facebook page, publicly, to no end.

Being unaccurate doesnt help me though, probably not buying this toy,It doesnt excite me,it doesnt look right to me either, dont like the colors, sculpt etc..In 5 years if no other modern representation comes out, then i may break and get it,just to have a "from 10 feet away"Voltron/Golion.

Years later I was all chilled out, forgot about that stress, OMG It took you years to chill out bro That’s a new level of rage lol, at the end and as fans we cant do anything Web is protected by the laws of copyrights but i really dont know if it cover the Golion name or they just own Voltron, the thing is they didn't do anything with it, they are just holding it no new figures released or anything, i hope they let this one pass so that will change toynami idea about their voltron and they might change it decently Tony dont stress it,if they get word, its nothing we can do,something like that cant be hidden, whether we discuss it here,on Facebook wherever..I'm sure they will hear about it,it's too big,its what they do with the info that matters,if they can do anything, its a different robot anyhow, its far from an accurate representation, and has a different name..those 2 things help in that department. As they said the colors aren't final Baron so it might get the vivid colors we want to, the thing is most of us are still waiting for the review then decide to get or let it pass For me I want it, i really like the sculpt the ratchet joints everywhere and the open mouth that’s just great

Ok thats pretty sick but while we wait for the king of beasts Ill give you a beastly story of my own.In high school aboout 10 of us were standing around playing hacky sack and chewing tobacco when we bet our friend 20 bucks that he couldnt drink our chaw spit from a cup and swallow it without puking. Well he took the bet and we all spat in a cup and the good sport drank down a good 6 ounces of manly chaw spit and we all lost, one of us puked but the good sport that drank it down did not and walked away with the 20 bucks. Now you might wonder why he must have needed the money but no he was the wealthiest kid in our school and the heir to a huge fortune built on table grapes. I will never understand it but i think im gonna go puke now

Back to MT Golion I wonder if CDX ever got that review sample? Its been two weeks already. Wish MT would have done more vids themselves in the mean time. Esp a combining one.

Fingers Crossed hoping CDX gets their review sample Safely and Soon.
Or else I'm imagining Mad Toys is probably making a 'perfect' sample for CDX. I don't see anything wrong with that idea, though. A review by CDX could make this or break this; we'll soon see.

Exactly why Im a cat person.LOL> Hey bro, sorry I missed your show at the Low Beat last night. I got off work some time close to 11, the restaurant was busy yesterday evening. My initial plan was to see your band, and then head to Bogies to catch War-Time Manner. Plan failed. Oh well, guess I can't have 'em all. There will be more shows later. zozo-mag
