People need to realize SOC Golion isn't happening. Not as long as WEP owns the rights to voltron. I understand people not liking this because he's not 100% dead on to the original toy or animation model. However if you look at him as a modern update or retake of the originals he doesn't look bad at all. Also if you look at the engineering involved (when has a fully transformable golion been able to do a split?) that alone makes up for him not being completely accurate. Of course its too early to tell how this project will turn out but its nice to finally see someone attempting this.

If this was Toynotme,s effort I would have lot more respect for both WET and Toynotme at least I know they,re trying. Instead they waste a perfectly good license and give us BS rehashed decade old misproportioned waste of petroleum...called Mastercrap boretron rehash version 3.0....wow look it now has lit eyes, weapons it should of come with in the first place and cool, cheap plastic heap of junky base..... For love of voltron and fans, Let Bandai have a shot you greedy nits!! Oh I forgot, you don,t care about all that. You only care about lousy few thousand you might scrape off....

Seeing the promo pic up close, it looks as if Hajime Katoki took a shot at the original Golion design. The hard lines are so pronounced.

Neat thing they did with the legs; hiding them inside themselves a bit streamlines the limbs. Looks like it is still just a CGI render though and not a colored proto. The light is bouncing off too much. So they probably could change some things like the face if they wanted to.

266$? I never heard of ICM, has anyone buy from them before? ICM also has a mirical voltron listed as pre order for march and it's listed third edition...? I also couldn't help but notice that the "product code" for both of these voltrons are SOC001 and SOC002, low blow.

I still think this piece looks pretty interesting. Is this Madtoy's first ever toy release?

Comparing the box for this to MA-01...this has Miracle Productions written all over it...the badge up in the left corner of the box with Infinity Gokin and the Japanese lettering above...looks suspiciously like the one in the upper left corner of the MA-01 box with MMW and Japanese lettering above. Stars in the background of the MA-01 box and the planet and sunrise in the background of this box with the same color scheme. This also has a crapload of accessories just like MA-01...you got the blazing sword, the anime sword and shield, the mini blades in the lions' mouths, and the two bonus swords. And Mad Toys...lol...what are they mad about?...hmmm.
The box shows a price of 21800 Yen so the $266 price is high...should be more like $214.
Oh God, I don't know if I can handle going through another one of these releases...
Anyone that can translate all the Japanese on this box?
Edit - Reading back through this thread, I see Magengar already made the observation about the badge in the corner of the box.
And the price LCM has listed is actually reasonable because there's a $20 discount for shipping to the US, making it $246, which gives LCM $32 to cover the actual shipping cost, which is reasonable.
If this is Miracle, looks like they learned their lesson and kept this under wraps until close to going into full production.
Stylistically, with the finishes, this seems quite different from Miracle's vehicle voltron, although the engineering seems very similar and well thought out with lots of articulation. The detailing looks really fine, e.g. the whiskers on the lions faces, the way the lions legs fold in looks really clean and tight, even the eyes on the black lion look to have that same gold metallic-y paint the original golion had. That's neat also how the wings fold up and are recessed in the back of the black lion instead of just folded on top of the back like the original golion. I am really liking the looks of this design, honestly.
Please let someone put up a pre-order for this that doesn't require prepayment.
FYI, Miracle vehicle voltron height is 33 cm vs. 28cm for this golion.

That site says that this particular Golion will be released on October 2014. If this is correct, more info should pop-up and more retailers should offer it for sale. That being said, it is way to early to pay for a pre-order; unless people want to go over the VV experience all over again.

The only weird thing I see about this figure is the two "Beast Sabres".......... I've never seen Golion use two swords, not even those sabres.

I keep looking for the name "GOLION" in the photos and can't find it. I only see "The King of Beasts", unlike the SD version which did spell out GORAION on the box. Am I missing something here, or you guys just decided to call it Golion just for the sake of it being a bootleg of the actual Golion?

"King Of Beasts" comes as a translation from the original Japanese title of the Goraion series. The following are turansureishunzu of the title... Beast King GoLion (百獣王ゴライオン, Hyakujū-Ō Goraion, King of the Beasts GoLion)c'est le wiki...... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GoLion.....call the robot whatever folks wish. I just don't want weppie to notice this discussion or else they just might get all nazi on Madtoys' case about this item. zozo-mag

I knew that, but unless I am missing something written in Japanese, Mad Toys is not calling this particular figure Golion. They are calling it The King of Beasts. Funny, I have seen other Golion bootleg figures called that same name before... }D
