Ever since XMAS I have been drooling over the DX Mazinger Z. Looking for a nice one at a good price. I'm in the market now so if you got one please hurry and save me from spending money on a new one

Is BBTS still selling it? That may be your best bet at the moment.

Thanks, I've emailed him a couple times but had no response. I'm gearing more toward having the base and all the accessories the one on ebay is iffy as to what it comes with

That one doesn't seem to be a great deal considering everything that it's missing ie the hangar base, scrander stand, armor pieces and cutters.

I'm gonna pass on that one for sure he won't even do free shipping so I'm better off just buying a new one and he has been very vague in emails so I'm not due what to expect except exactly what you see which isn't worth it. A lot missing for that price

A lot missing for that price You're best bet now if you really want one is BBTS, unfortunately, they raised the price $40 over the holidays. I'm kicking myself for not getting it from Amazon when they had it for $340. At this point, I'm resigned to waiting for a reissue. I don't want it bad enough that I can't wait.

I'd say that if a reissue doesn't pop up within the next six months, try to get a brand new DX Maz while you still can by or before that time. Hopefully by then the price for it won't be outrageously high.
If the DX Jet Scrander is still available now, get it while it is still cheap. In this hobby, the case is usually that whenever you need the One Certain Small Item to complete a kit, that item is often more difficult to get than the original kit itself.
Continue monitoring BBTS in case they happen to restock it; although it's almost unlikely, given that the DX was made in few quantities.
Here's a cue: if there is any retailer who is HIGH PRIORITY (Favorited) on Bandai's list of distributors, Bandai would be likely to restock that retailer with more of these units... therefore, THAT retailer is the one you should keep a close eye on, and snatch the DX as soon as that retailer has it in stock again.
For something as high-grade as a DX Mazinger/DX Jet Scrander set, I would try to avoid eBay at all costs... because you never know if you'll get a complete DX set or you'll get ripped off. Some vultures on eBay would love to rip people off, especially for something as high-value as the DX Mazinger stuff.
-----------------
I cannot say enough how fortunate I am to have received my DX Maz/Scrander sets at Christmas time from a group of caring loving members here at RJ.
I'm very happy with my DX; but I also feel guilty for not jumping on it the first time it became available in stores so that I can relate with those of you who've gone through the hard work of getting it and those of you who are still waiting to buy it.

Unless I missed something, I don't think the DX Mazinger Z is going to be re-issued. It was more of a Mazinger Z 40th Anniversary release than just a regular released figure. Has anyone heard anything different? }D

Has anyone heard anything different? }D Precisely. And that is one of many reasons why it was made in limited quantities. Calling it an "SOC" was also paying tribute to the GX toy line for Mazinger-Z. And, of course, the robot character's 40th anniversary as a manga/anime star. The special occasion was perfect timing, and fans were Ready to snatch it up. One just doesn't celebrate a robot's 40th Anniversary every year. lol If the DX Maz were to be reissued, the market wouldn't jump on it with such enthu$ia$m as they did the first time. zozo-mag

I watched the cdx interview. It looked like a lot of magnets were used and from the review it was like watching the VV Wing falling off but all over the place. I still think it is cool but I chose to buy the SOC Godmars Today instead. So this month has been crazy for my collection, SOC GodSigma, SOC Godmars, Mint Tetsujin 28, Mini Lionbot, and a kickass Bootleg VV and preorders on the new Daltanias and The Chogokin Hello Kitty. PLus word of the new Best King Im about to burst. All this excess collecting has my wheels turning. I am an auto fabricator by trade so Im getting ready to fab up a Custom Display at my shop with each individual toy getting its own custom display case with t28 being the king of the godaikins. Do you guys know where to get those mini lights that rotate around and look like real stage lights. I may start a thread to get ideas for each display. Maybe do one at a time and show the progress on each. Oh this is a thread im itself.

It's a tough call for some folks: get it at $440 now before it goes Up, or wait until it goes "on sale" at a "discount". Sales and Discounts likely won't happen, as distributors/retailers are trying to milk the DX Maz for its limited availability.
Whenever an item is manufactured in limited quantities, its price tends to be driven Upwards. I can't say that is an actual fact. That's just my own perspective.

Buying toys when they actually come out is everyones best bet.I mean preordering.Bandai or well known company preorders that is.The best savings is usually in the preorder at 20 percent at some stores. Not waiting til you can "afford" it,which will never come if you cant at the time,as it will be higher later on is the rule not the exception.
So saving up for something really doesnt work in this hobby unless its an unpopular back catalogue item.

I wish I was collecting when that cm gordian was released. I was looking at one on ebay the other day and now they are all removed. I'll definitely be jumping on anything coming out new or reissued unfortunately I've got some catching up to do
