Everything they make just seems to be so lifeless and dull. Boxes and hard edges. :/

I agree it suits the G1 combiners perfectly. These are 80's designed Transformers, if you want a more modern design flair then a company like Maketoys is putting out great Technobots. For me I want my Transformers looking like the decade that designed them with just a hint of modern proportions and these fit in great with the MP line.

That's fair enough To me they all look like squared edges and TFC style blocks. I guess I appreciate the MT style "re-imaginings" more. I do like the s__t eating grin that Warbotron's Swindle has, though. That's a nice headsculpt.

It's a catch-22, I loved the Transformers Prime designs but like every Transformer show after G1 it's soon forgotten. It seems like only G1 has any staying power and impact which is understandable, same with the new IDW stuff. I can appreciate the newer looks but in the end my heart and fondness will always be with the original but I do think the MT and FP stuff is fantastic even from just a design point.

It's nice that we have such a variety of options nowadays to even be able to have this conversation, I suppose. There are so many options for fans of different styles that eventually we all get something that hits our sweet spot. I suppose I'm lucky that the Warbotron stuff just doesn't hit mine because my living situation doesn't lend itself well to bringing home ginormous toys anymore unless I want to sleep on the couch, lol.

I understand the Quinjester point of view. Warbotron lines come close to MP Scale but stay in another design way (frustrating for those who want perfect MP line) The squarish looks annoyed me a bit too but it´s ok. Alt mode (specialy on the Bruticus version) is interpreted and turn these designs more like upscaled Classics than MP. I stay out of these combiners (for the moment...) and prefer spending on Fantoys Dinobots and Badcube toys : they are MPs.

Does anyone have Warbotron's "Bruticus" figures? How are they compared to MakeToys and the other better 3rd-party toymakers?

I have them, their pretty sturdy and about MP sized. Some minor QC issues here and there but Warbotron has been good about sending out fixes and replacement parts. It's just taking them forever to release the last figure.

That Technobot set is looking better and better all the time, I may have to jump aboard since I don't have any Autobot combiners yet.

Just a cartload of choices out there right now.

^ Hmmm...that's the Warbotron Computron? Maybe it's just the pose, but it's not the best (i.e. most flattering) shot? Because from that image, I think the MakeToys is better?

Very good, but still need some improvements on elbows... A simple spare part could easily fit. Some comparo :

I got my answer about Warbotron being or not MP scaled : IMO, it's more upscaled Classics, but can fit MP line (if needed)
