GOOD NEWS EVERYONE!So much talk about the Ashura Mazinger in the past few weeks has prompted me to start working on a Shapeways kit to turn the regular GX-45 Shin Mazinger into an Ashura Mazinger! The kit will cover the hardest parts to make in this otherwise easy conversion. The kit will come with: Ashura Pilder in dock mode with articulated tail! Yay! Ashura Pilder in flight mode Ashura Pilder in Spider mode Neck Brace Breast plate add ons Some extras A few Rhinestuds, some styrene strips and voila! You get your own custom GX-45A! The kit will be up on Shapeways next month.

I mean, unless you want an innacurate Ashura Mazinger head and body, the GX-07 is a must. }D

A simple resize will allow the kit to be used on both figures. I already compared both figures and the difference is minimal. In fact, if you draw some red lines down the nose and up the crown, you are pretty much set. Remember, the other mayor difference is the white Pilder but that will be replaced with the new Pilder anyways. The arm and leg straps are cut to size anyways and rhinestuds come in all sorts of size. Wait till you see the finished product, it will blow my previous Ashura out of the water!

Bro, the heads are totally different! The body sculpt is totally different as well. I mean, yeah, the GX-45 would slightly resemble the Ashura Mazinger, but that's about it. On the other hand, the GX-07 would totally become the Ashura Mazinger - because it is the Mazinger used to make it. I don't know... just my 2 cents. }D

THERE!! Changed the title! Now you get BOTH kits! ARE YOU HAPPY NOW? ? ARE YOU? LOL! I really don't see much difference here if you ask me. The GX-45 looks much better. The GX-07 looks outdated and has limited articulation but I get what you mean. So now you get both kits in July! Yaaaaaaaay!

This is a great news and idea. It took so long to kitbasherz to enter the SOC world.

Now, before we go any further, 3D printers have some limitations that need to be respected in order to get a toy. In the Pilder above the eyes seem to be protruding a lot but in reality, they are .02 mm thick. That's right. I said 2 tenths of a millimeter! They are barely visible and just raised enough to be painted easily. The tailfin also looks a tad wide instead of tapering like in the anime but 3D printers have a minimum wall thickness of 1 mm and that tailfin is exactly 1 mm wide. Keep in mind that the Pilder you see above is actually the size of a peanut!!! All details need to be exaggerated a bit otherwise the printer will just skip them during the printing process.

Sadly, custom kits... just like crime... don't pay. LOL! I already have a bunch of kits on Shapeways but the sales suck. I however don't make these kits for monetary gain, I do them to complete my collection.
