Welcome to the board, I tried to clear up your images but there still pretty small. Post a direct link if you can.
As for the breakage from what I can see it looks like the plastic is broken off , if you have the pieces you might be able to glue it back otherwise you will have to modify it or get another figure, sorry.

The same thing had happened to one I used to own. I kept it as is, just in combined mode for display purposes, for years. But eventually, I just bought another one and sold the old one.

Would like to add: glueing it back wont work as that is a transformation bit where the joint is require to withstand the force of it being tugged in and out as you pull the thigh in and out of the legs It needs to be very strong. Glued in part will eventually break again.

I guess my point was that there is no reliable way to fix this. I am surprised that more people have not encountered this. This knee joint is just very brittle - it happened to BOTH of the knees on my figure. They just disintegrated into many pieces - not just a single break. Unless you can do metalworking, I don't see how this could be repaired.

A metal replacement part is the way to go. Unfortunately, I can't see the details or the part in the pics because of their tiny size.

I know at least 3 - 4 cases of this happening to my friends or their frienfs ;p so yes it is quite wide spread just that nobody seemed to complain about it for some reason ;p

A bit of a longshot but maybe you can check in with HLJ.com? back in the day, the used to allow parts ordering for repairs from Bandai, etc, after the big quake they put this service on hold. I don't know if they have this back up now?

The reason for the breakage is not so much as weak resin on the hinge but more because its tight to move the thigh in and out of the lower leg. If i can just add some WD40 oil inside the walls of the lower leg that might help a lot. In the meantime I repaired it with reinforced metal wire frame and putty. I still dont advice to pull and push the thigh in and out of the lower leg by force. To pull the thigh out, best to use some tool to push the thigh out by pushing on the metal button at the back of the lower leg. I have yet to smoothen the putty, will do it tonight. i61.tinypic.com/wk5rti.jpg[img src="http://i61.tinypic.com/wk5rti.jpg" src=" " alt=" "] [img src="http://i58.tinypic.com/2w3uu0p.jpg" src=" " alt=" "]

Wow, nice work.
I'll probably just move the leg in and out by the slide button too when I eventually get one myself.

I've never encountered any Serious damage to my SOCs yet (knock on wood). But if I should ever do suffer diecast damage, I'll be prepared with this... www.jbweld.com/products/surface-applications/metal/and this... www.jbweld.com/product/j-b-highheat/...the downside is that this epoxy sets Quickly, not enough time to work with it unless you've worked with it before and are quick at micro-sculpting. I sculpted a small cockpit dashboard the size of a Quarter, with this epoxy, in 5 minutes. zozo-mag

I just wanted it to be poseable again without the lower leg dropping off. For transformation purposes I will use that back button ;p
