Yeah, its Gaiking, the skeleton knight....
The designer completely disregarded how an actual armor wearing " person" would look . A lot bulkier then this. Sometimes these same character designers draw armored swat personal in full armor too skinny too.

I'm not feeling this as a Super Robot. Feels more like a guy in armor. I do agree with Baron, the Daiku Maryu in the "Ultraseven" looking crest looks great! }D

It has a total Mamoru Nagano style. Reminds me of Gaiking meets Five Star Stories. I am cool with that

Ditch the skirt, and give it a little more physical bulk (like MD Geist) in all the right places, and it will at least be a win in the super-robot "Fantasy Rendition" category.
Okay, so the sculpt does indeed look impressive... now to see how the Paint application will complement the sculpt, while NOT falling victim to any part-swap/transformation feature issues (Parts-Contact abrasion/scratching).
Anyone hear of the phrase "putting the cart before the horse"? If a manga or anime will be made for this, then This is the first time I've ever seen a collectable action figure franchise come BEFORE the anime/manga.
I've always been used to seeing it the other way (anime/manga first, then merchs).

The Getters fit that "Dino" concept so well. It would be interesting to see them in this "armored knight" rendition of the Metamore-Force line. zozo-mag

I think Gaiking works really well in a Galient/Escaflowne style design. Is it different? Sure. But it has a sweet fantasy armor look that a giant demon looking mecha should have.

I don't know guys... if they beefed him up a few tons, he would be a fantastic Fewture Gaiking. Maybe just add a few mechanical details...

I like this new design... at this point I think Sentinel has done more home runs with their toy releases than a lot of other new toy companies out there. This new take on Gaiking is really cool in my opinion, reminds me of a summon monster in one of them Final Fantasy games I've played in the past. I think it was Odin or something... but if it has the same wire mesh like cape deal with the skirt area then i don't mind it too much... My biggest problem with the SOC version was the stability with the figure at the feet area. I remember having balancing issues with Gaiking when displaying him due to the fact that the feet would still wobble after connecting them. Almost had a shelve dive once because of it.
Yes there are days when I wish Bandai would do a R release on some of their previous releases to improve upon the toy engineering they have now achieved with some of their more recent SOC releases minus the space battleships...
