Just found out that Volks is releasing a 1/24 scale plastic model of one of their Blue Knight Votoms designs next year, the Testa-Rossa. No price yet, but at a height of 28 cm, it's pretty massive. They've been making 1/24 Votoms resin kits for the past couple of years, this will be their first injection model of it. It's based on their resin kit released a few years ago. This was their other big mecha kit announcement other than the IMS Terror Mirage. I'm really interested to see how it compares to the 1/20 Bandai ones, which were extremely impressive in their detail and engineering. masterfileblog.jp/news/2014/07/28/5021.htmlI'm stoked for this. Volks has been making injection kits from FSS and Virtual-On recently, and now they're expanding even further with Votoms. I think it's only a matter of time before they become the next Kotobukiya.

I totally welcome this. Haven't had a chance yet to try the FSS kits, but the "crisp" casting Volks Votoms may push me over the edge!

This will be snapfit plastic model in 7 different colors and 400+ parts and 22.5 cm tall when completed, with all the gimmicks you would expect on any articulated Votoms figure, like a Down Form and extending wrist. Runs for a steep 11,000 yen though, but this is fairly reasonable considering how massive and complex it is. This almost looks like it'll be on par with a Bandai MG in terms of functionality, ease of assembly, and gimmicks. www.volks.co.jp/blueknight/injection/2401_testarossa/Hopefully Volks will apply this philosphy to their later FSS plastic kits.
