As Gokin collectors we should know what animes are out there and the backgrounds of the shows we love, well a while back I found this book all Japanese but very helpful in chonologically putting every Sr show with pics in order AND also pics of SOCs and other companies as a small but extra section. Well book 2 recently came out...Book one is 1972-1998 Book two is 1998-2013.VERY helpful in collecting and completing our collections in knowing what animes were released and many you never knew existed! These books BLOW AWAY the SR encyclopedia. They are thick and packed with photos and information..I advise getting them. A good price is 35$ each, but they go up to 75$ at times each.Kind of a hard find but they are on ebay at times.Very helpful.. I also recommend the Mazinger Bible and Getter Bible...

Def nice ref books. It not Not only for us collectors but also more importantly, toy companies!
Sometimes, i get really disappointed by the proportions they come up with....seemingly out of thin air with no regards to history or any reference materials.

Those books are THE Bibles that manufacturers Should go by as reference when manufacturing toy merchs of those robots. I can't find my files of the Super Robot Encyclopedia; but I do have the Mazinger Bible files in one of my hard-drives. I used it as reference for building my 3D models. Nice book haul there, Baron! zozo-mag

Nice. I have few, but I prefer those that focus more in the anime side (not about toys). Will share em later once I have time.

Not sure if you are speaking in regards to the books I posted, but they are exactly just that, about the animes, not the toys. There are about 10 pages total in the 450 plus pages these books have that are about toys..My point being was we can gain from learning about the animes for our collecting with books about the anime.Mayeb you glazed over and just saw the page with pics of the toys? Not sure, i mentioned it in the paragraph.(...chonologically putting every Sr show with pics in order AND also pics of SOCs and other companies as a small but extra section. )

Those books are really cool! If I can add something similar, there was a series in the old "Protoculture Addicts" magazine, that covered similar ground in a series of issues, with title, brief synopsis, artwork, etc, of the growth of Super Robot shows in a timeline. I think it was 4 issues. If I can find my copies, I'll post up which issue numbers they were, maybe can be tracked down on ebay/amazon, etc. www.protoculture.ca/Proto/index.htm

Just dug up the few Protoculture Addicts Magazines I had, and they were cool for back in the mid 90s, but nowhere near as good as the Super Robots books Baron posted about here. The mags covered a breif synopsis, but not as much pics of various bot combos, the villans, or characters, etc. All black and white pages. I still can't get iphone pics to transfer over here but issues 40, 41, 42 covered "Super Robots of the Seventies" plus plenty of Gundam, Patlabor, Votoms, etc. Issue 54 had a set of articles chronicling Go Nagai's works specifically. I always wondered what kind of collections the writes of that magazine had up in Quebec, Canada? If anybody cares, they're cheep on ebay: www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=protoculture+addicts+magazine+42&_from=R40%7CR40%7CR40%7CR40%7CR40&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.Xprotoculture+addicts+magazine+40.TRS0&_nkw=protoculture+addicts+magazine+40&_sacat=0www.ebay.com/itm/PROTOCULTURE-ADDICTS-54-Near-Mint-/231310860878?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35db33a24e

My browser must have had issues when I last viewed it. Thanks bro! I need to get these! I'm always trying to build my classic super robot anime collection and these would be perfect supplements.
