Just got DX9 Carry today and i have to say I think its awesome. My figure has the issues expressed by others. The scratches aren't as bad i was expecting - sad that its even there. This figure has presence and I think fits in very well.
I do see how some changes could have made it more Toon accurate. Though DX9 really has captured the Studio Ox look.

Charlotte TFCON was rich in models... TFW2005 gave a list of what's coming from our underground favorites news.tfw2005.com/2015/10/17/tfcon-charlotte-2015-3rd-party-panel-303405I give some highlight to project I am working on : the OX REmix line. This is an early prototype on this video, but shows the transformation... -> OX REmix jaguar is a no partforming model, 1/1 scale for the alt mode, got lots of diecast and scale well with MP models

Eh eh. Thanks. Currently busy with all OX stuffs. Understand my tongue stays in my pocket, but you have to know that QC is fierce and chromed diecast logo on box is here for a reason.

We appreciate your work. My interest definitely piqued when I saw that familiar SOC/Bandai DX-style blackened metal in the photos.

The artfire color looks great. I'm sure the other two will be great as well but color wise the artfire just wins.
This is pretty much my favorite G1 mold, may have to grab one.

Lejam, we know that MMC OX is preparing an MP style Inferno as well. Is there any sneak peek to the design?

Yep. PS-03 Vulcan : More shots : www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=697523773716804&id=563866863749163Some notes from Jesslyn (one of the designers) : I'd like to write a little bit about something that i thought the fans might find controversial about our fire truck fellow - the 'Portland Fire' text and deco on the side! The original 80's Transformers figure 'Inferno', his cartoon design and the Studio OX art that this figure was inspired by did not have any such deco, and while the cab section of the original toy was based on a Mitsubishi Fuso fire truck, the rear half was mostly fictional, probably because it was just the robot arms and legs folded back, so there was a challenge to strike a happy balance between keeping the spirit of the fictional character design, and a believable fire truck.
I feel one of the strengths of our design are the side panels that cover the arms while creating a solid look to the truck, rather than a tangle of robot parts, however fire trucks with this shape are often tankers full of water, so putting surface details like compartments and dials on the area didn't make sense and would have been too busy for the clean lines of our robot mode, not to mention the fact that real world fire trucks are often emblazoned with gorgeous gold pinstriping, department text and logos - that was the answer.
But what department to use? Research time!
In the original Transformers cartoon, the Autobot spaceship crash landed into a fictional volcano - Mount St. Hilary, inspired by the real world eruption of Mount St. Helens in 1980. After being awoken by an eruption in 1984, the Autobot computer scanned for nearby earth vehicles to disguise the Autobots, so I tried to locate the closest town to the fictional Mount St. Hilary, which was said to be located in Oregon, USA - which led me to the Boring Lava Field as the most likely location, named after the town of Boring, Oregon. Oh dear. No offense to the folk of Boring, but your town has an awful name and 'Boring Fire', while amusing in the 'move along, no robots in disguise to see here, just a boring old earth vehicle' kind of way, it was.. yeah, not a good name. So the nearest capital city? Portland

Hmm. Although I can't argue that the bot mode looks good, the alt mode deviates too much from the source material that I have in my mind. XTB wins in the alt mode department for me.

I'm still liking the MT version the best, it still has that chunky look I associate with Grapple and Inferno.

Agreed. They are both really nice and both achieve the "realistic" alt mode look. I see why MMC made the decision they did design wise and I like their ladder also.
But the XTR version for me just looks really really good in that render. It's got a little more feel to it.

Paik4Life pre-view of Maketoys Gun Dog (Hound):
I love everything about it - except for the face. That blank stare kills it for me :/
I'm interested to see how Fanstoys' version ends up - it has got a much nicer headsculpt in my eyes. If the transformation is inventive I'll probably get it - though I do confess to really loving how clever MT's version is.

Nice! I much prefer the MT version over the FT one. Granted the FT one is way closer to the animated look but I like the way the MT one looks like a Jeep that transforms into a robot then how the animators made Transformers look like robots who had looks that were influenced by vehicles and what not. Especially since the MP line has never been about 100% cartoon accuracy in the first place.

To further clarify my earlier post, I'm not saying that the OX alt mode is bad, just not Inferno's original alt mode to me, which the XTB designed has better capture. I think XTB's design perfectly captures what a real life fire truck that Inferno would transforms into, rendered with current toy design technology. As of now, my preference is as follows:
Bot mode: MT = XTB = OX Alt mode: XTB > MT = OX

Okay, it comes with Chip and Chrome Parts. That kinda Justifies the $25-30 more versus MT Prices and MMC prices for MP style figure at this size. I want one.
