I had a great idea, thought i posted it? anyway if those of us with large collections like Gold,TMZ,myself could put together a book of our own that documents ALL the companies and all their robots,it would include a comprehensive catalogue of numbers, photos,AND transformations IN ENGLISH,with transformation tips that are left out of Japanese manuals etc. Each year we can add a new compendium of the new robots released, like an ongoing book in 3ring style. This would be in a 3 ring binder type of setup, that we could all add to over time,so wed have a complete Chogokin book of SOCs,SRCs,CMs,Sentinel etc etc,THAT would be great. It would remain unpublished just for us at RJ. It would be in downloadable format where you could print out each sheet. That's an excellent idea! And I don't think Anyone has ever done an actual 3ring project like that before, so Go for it! It can be done as a .PDF file so that folks can view it in Adobe Reader AND print it out as a hard-copy. If y'all can gather your web source materials and create the archives as web pages with an HTML editor, and then save them with the .html extension, and then open them in a web browser, and use PDF24 en.pdf24.org/pdf-creator-download.html to convert the web page as a .pdf file... ...no internet connection is needed to do this, as you can view any Saved web page Offline. You can also edit web pages Offline, using Notepad or any HTML Editor program. What the browser does is display the saved web page using the source materials from the web page's folder in your computer***. Instead of a URL address, the address of the saved web page will be coming from the folder locationin your computer where the web page was saved. As in, file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/TVazquez/My%20Documents/Warehouse%20Work%20$14.00.htm*** Example:In your browser, click File and click Save As... save this page as an .html Complete document, This web page will be saved along with all of its source material (images and scripts) in a folder to go with it as it is being saved. This is why whenever you save a web page Complete you also end up with a source folder. The PDF24 program is a browser plugin that acts as a virtual printer... it can print out an actual hard-copy, and it can print to file as a .pdf. Open your created webpage in your browser, and PDF24 will convert it to a .pdf file which you can open in Adobe Reader, and print hard copies from. Here's a .pdf file I made by first creating the document as a web page... www.mediafire.com/view/t918tltvwva9oz6/How_To_Isolate_Textures_On_SUFs.pdfOne of these days we'll have to get together so I can show you how to do this. That way we can get your 3ring binder documents created. The last time I had ever seen any serious documentation of the SOC line was at the old website of ZincPanic, about 8 years ago; but that site is gone. Since then CDX and ToyboxDX have always handled the full line documentation, and of course we have some SOC archives here at our main website. zozo-mag

Check issuu.com : Lots of tools to easily create an online magazine. Template are cheap if you want to go more personal. I am senior in graphic design and typographics, so I can create the templates, the composition grid, fonts balance, etc... We first can create small file serie in pdf only, Then editing a trade paper back to have a beautifull book. A kickstarter campaign can help too.

Also an end chapter with a few larger or poignant RJ collections would be a great addition.I really want to get started on this..its gonna take some dedication.Im willing to photograph anything needed,I know I have several pieces that arent in some collections, the more common stuff and SOCs should be photographed by one of the guys here that takes teh great photos and has time for this,KUMA comes to mind..and others. We need a list of who would be down for contributions to the book.Maybe transformation would be redundant,BUT there are certain tips not in manuals we can add to certain SRs.Also a section on preservation,my department! This would be awesome.

The modern, English, diecast robot guidebook encyclopedia is great idea. Tamashi reference site only goes so far, but is cool for their product history.
You guys need to just start a thread title with this specifically, get it the attention it deserves, rather than buried in this title! I'm not a big help at this point, being back mostly vintage collecting of course, but have had most of the SOC line thru the years, and other brands, and have watched & collected some of the modern revival since 1998, so I'd help any way I could

Guys the book is also for the CMs toys,Sentinel,HLPro,Yamato,Miracle,Madtoys, I havent decided on Fewture's non classic versions of SRs yet, ofcourse Giguiser will be included, but as for Sato stuff havent decided yet,if they are included someone will have to volunteer that chapter as i want nothing to do with it,I see no real issue including thema s there are only a handful but teh focus here is SRs in their true form. Book will also be including non gokin ABS or plastic SRs too, BTW I dont want to stress Bandai here.THIS IS NOT JUST AN SOC BOOK IN ANY WAY,yes they ofcourse will be the main company but only because they are represented most in the hobby because of sheer numbers,NOT because they are "the best",but i want to stress ALL companies.Basically Im getting at representing the different SRs modernly,no matter who made them,IT will ALSO include plastic versions, this wont just be diecast. The book will encompass all Super Robots, also im letting go of making it just for classic robots,it will be all SRS from 72 to present.Lets stress here though,no Transformers,Macross,Valkyrie type, real robots or sentient robots will be represented AT ALL.This book is for Super Robots with pilots, and I cant stress enough how closely that will be policed. Ill start a new thread on this book soon.. So do you guys think its a good idea to do this in ring binder format and print for yourself as we go?I think its teh best idea as new stuff comes out every year,in fact we may just do additions quarterly..A single printable book will get outdated fast..I want to keep everything as current as possible.

I think the best idea would be... something like Dropbox? A file which you can update anytime you want, downloadable by anybody. The ring binder format would be the best option, I think. Also, be careful with that "Super Robots with pilots" definition Baron I know, I know. Super Robots need a human to be involved, in some way, they need someone to control them directly. They don't need someone to literally pilot them though, that's just what happens 90% of the time. Just think about Jeeg: Hiroshi becomes the head of the robot, and then torso and limbs attach. So he really isn't piloting it, Shiba has become Jeeg. But, as I said, a human is controlling the robot (or rather, the robot's body) so Jeeg is a super robot. Then... I guess you'd need to draw the line somewhere. Like "the person controlling the robot must be somewhere inside the robot's body". So you can keep out robots like Tetsujin 28 and Super Tetsujin 28 from the list. Etc. And no artificial intelligences controlling robots (like many robots in the Brave Series) nor living beings that look like robots (like Transformers). Fine for me

Fine for me Right Super Robots in general yes.Evangelion will not be in the book, sorry,so teh entire SOC/SRC/CMs line WILL NOT be in the book,King Joe and Battle Fever will not grace the pages, the green Crayon robot or the silly Armor SRC figures either.Remember my dream here is not a book on SOCs,its a book on modern super Robots. The book will be called MODERN SUPER ROBOT TOYS{articulated}.Gokin in the title is misleading as the book will definately include plastic robots like Mekander by CMs,the GNU Yamato figures{Baxingar/Sasuraiger}etc.We can add sub chapters for gashapon pilots and related, but it stays at Super Robots.

also there has to be certain contributors who agree,it cant be a Wikipedia type thing or there will be too much opinion, wrong info, and unwanted material. The book will be Super Robot figures 1972-Present.It will include bases, figures both metal and plastic, and related gashapons.Sub chapters on Custom stff will also be welcomed but on a vote basis as to what "makes it"
