new photos couple of things i noticed, his feet design make it looks like he is wearing a high heels lol, and it have this cool vintage feeling to it, also supporting the figure with your hand while taking photos is bad specially if you are marketing it, it will give the feeling that the figure is not soiled at all for the asking price, its a pass for me plus i wanna see what the anime colors figure will look like first, do you guys notice how Fewture and most of the companies are asking us more for less ? we hardly get any thing beside the figure these days, NOT ACCEPTABLE cheapest price for the braves lol www.anime-export.com/product/33330btw did the late Taku Sato did this ? honestly it doesn't feel like it

It was designed by NINNIN. Not sure who that is. For a while, I thought this NINNIN was "Nin-Nin", Akira Nish*tani, who worked for Capcom and founded Arika (Street Fighter EX), but there's a (quite busy) twitter account run by someone called NINNIN (with that exact spelling), who posted a few pics of Fewture's Raideen. Nin-Nin also has a twitter feed, I didn't see any Raideen pictures. It doesn't look like they're the same guy : their art styles are quite different. NINNIN designed a bunch of Duel Masters cards. I don't know anything more about him. Actually, I didn't know ANYTHING about him just 10 minutes ago before I googled him.

Strange to see preorders for the gold one pop up when we're still waiting for pics of the painted regular version. I wonder if that one will be mass distributed too (to the big stores like AmiAmi and HLJ), or a Fewture direct release.

my thoughts exactly. its quite unconventional to start selling the repaint rather than the regular version first. however, the regular version ought to be mass distributed as well, no way am i going to consider it if it happens to be a 50k yen limited edition.

Wow... Magneto and RahXephon got married and gave birth to that there golden child! ( just kidding) That sculpt reminds me of RahXephon, indeed. I'm also feeling the most recent superior REIDEEN (that crazy gold CG-animated version from the late 2000's) vibe in that thing. I wonder if that sculpt was inspired as a tribute to these two mechs I mentioned here. Perhaps the producer will add "Godbird" parts to allow this new Raideen figure to be switched into Godbird mode? I like that two-toned gold, makes for a nice accent to bring out some details in contrast to their surrounding parts. Congrats to Fewture! zozo-mag

i figured because Taku designs speak his name, look at Mazinger, Great Mazinger and the Getters those are pure Taku specially Mazinger im not saying this Raideen is awful but its just not as other Fewture Gokins, its a bit overdone when i was checking Fewture site for the official photos i found out that they edited the official photos a bit clearly the figure looks more appealing this way lol, also the photo with the guy hand isn't there

Dunno, but am not feeling this gold version. Will pass on this and wait to see what the normal color version looks like.

If I'm not mistaken, either the Boss Borot and Doublas duo or the Ghost in the Shell Tachikoma were only available in their silver/naked metal version on HLJ. You had to order the regular one directly from Fewture, like their Getters. But I could be wrong; I'm really not sure. I got Doublas and the Tachikoma from HLJ (repaint), but I don't remember if they had the regular one as well and Fewture's website doesn't have any information on their older figures.

Mine's been in storage for ages and I haven't played with it much. From what I remember of it, it's a nice figure, but nothing outstanding. I remember finding it somewhat disappointing. The diecast felt noticeably thinner and lighter than the EX Gokin Getters and Mazinger 1969. It's not a disaster; very much in line with the rest of the 1901 line. It's just that I couldn't help thinking that it could have been better. I mean, the necks are not even articulated other than at the extremities. A Doublas with stiff necks. That's a huge con in my book. If you like the looks and already have the rest of the line (or plan to get them), I'd say go for it if you can get it for a good price. But IMO it's not worth the US$300+ BIN I see on Ebay right now. But I did consider selling it once and decided to put it back in storage instead after playing a bit with it to shoot some pictures. So even if it's not amazing, it's at least worth keeping.

Quite nice, indeed. Golden repaints usually look a bit odd to me, because of the plastic parts molded in "golden" plastic that look out of place. It looks like they tried real hard to make them match the rest, but in the end it just didn't work. I'm thinking about the golden Mazinger GX-01RG, here. (Not without its charms, but odd-looking.)
This one seems to have sidestepped that issue gracefully by adding another colour and not going for chrome. (Though I wouldn't be surprised to see a chrome version pop up later. It's Fewture...)
