Awesome review Charles! For a moment there, I thought the nail wasn't included til I got closer to the end of the review. Thank you for watching. My bad for not going into the details of the nail feature. It was challenging to do it on camera because quite a fair bit of effort is required to balance the arm on the stand and pose GGG holding the nail with his left hand. For sure the combination is more of a good to look at and pose, and definitely not for play like you would for the original DX version. Still I am impressed by the simple yet functional engineering put into Goldymarg to make him anime accurate to the minute detail. =)

it was a pass for me but i gotta admit after watching Charles review this figure have an awesome engineering to it i really wish the GX-70 will be Bismarck but since WEP in the picture i don't see it coming Happy to know that you like the review. =) Bandai should really sponsor us whenever we entice others to buy their toys because of our reviews. =p

Few more pics, the hammer is a whole lotta plastic, GGG cant hold anything w/o the stand, i like it but it i cant justify the cost. Still not bad just wish it was cheaper. Also the hammer doesnt bend like in those previous pics seen on the amiami blog. Hi, just a little note if you haven't already noticed. If you press the tab on the hammer head, the sides will pop out and extend the hammer to make it bigger. =) Thanks for that! Missed a couple of things actually since i transformed it without instructions

Beutiful robot. Nice review Charles. My only complaint with this choice by Bandai, is that it looks like a Hasbro Transformer and not a classic super robot.

Really the only thing stopping Bandai here is physics. I would be much happier if the stand was not a necessity for the full combined mode. I think if I keep this piece Goldymarg will be left in robot mode to accompany GGG.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought this thing looks more like a Transformer than a Chogokin. It seems nice enough. Much larger than I was expecting. Not one that will be joining my collection however. Just none of the Brave Series bots do it for me. I love classic robots. I love MP Transformers. That weird middle ground between them however, just doesn't grab me.

I still don't think they'll release the Star GGG parts - not as a general release anyway - unless they somehow manage to release it as an accessory for another robot. Such as Fighgar, perhaps?

Assuming you mean GaoFighGar, why would they do that? GFG never used StealthGao II, so it'd make little sense. I could see Bandai being d*cks and releasing StealthGao II with a Repli-Star GaoGaiGar, which would piss me off to no end. The optimist in me is hoping for a SRC style upgrade set with the SGII and the Gatling Driver, and maybe with a faceplate-less helmet.

if only they could create something to replace that shinkansen train... (maybe black paint will save it) I picked GX-68 because of toy design/shape/quality, etc, but I always dislike this train-shoulders ! Everything looks futuristic on this robot except that damn train

Agree! That's another reason why I prefer the GaoFighGar over the original GaoGaiGar. The bullet train was a bad idea... }D

Everything looks futuristic on this robot except that damn train The bullet train is basically an a tradition when it comes to Brave vehicles. I personally like it - it completes GGG's "modern classic" look to me. If it helps you decide, I have seen one of the older GGG toys that did have a black LinerGao (it was some limited exclusive, I can't find the pic of it any more) and it admittedly did look pretty cool.

The train doesn't bother me, but it is an odd thing to include. It does fit the fiction, as well as the traditional looks of the Braves series however. So odd it may seem at first, I just accepted it as part of the design. And GGG afterall is a "fixer upper" version of Genesic GGG, with the Earthlings not truly understood the original designs for Galeon, while GFG is a 100% Earth iteration of GGG, without using Galeon (so everything matches better, and look more advanced at the same time). So when you look at the story as a whole, the odd combo of GGG does make sense...sort of.

Tank mode looks to be about the same size as a GI Joe vehicle. I think I actually like this guys cool vehicle form better than robot.
