Edit: /\/\/\ - No, that has never happened, plus that wouldn't be doable anyway seeing as there's no left hand for the Marg Hand. those look sick. I dunno about the panel lines. makes him look gundamish I dig the panel lines, but then again i'm a Gunpla builder before a Chogokin collector so i'm probably a bit biased. It did motivate me to panel line my LinerGao and Dividing Driver, along with giving GX-68 a much needed modification to improve its head articulation. I'm pleased with the results.

Panel lining has to be done with the good darker color in each color area. Going only with translucent dark grey or black is quite nice but kills the shine. (the Gundam effect)

funny, recently I was reading a tutorial on panel lining, because I had no idea why my mg zeta that I made a few years ago looked like garbage after I lined it up. now I know. I made a LOT of mistakes lol.

Man...I just can't get into this. It doesnt have a SOC feel to it. The legs are open on the back yet they made filler panels for the bottom of the feet?
I'm going back and forth with cancelling preorder. Great toy no doubt but doesn't quite do it for me. I still have time to decide I guess. My point is with BBTS so its still not out.

Not gonna lie, I totally agree with you on this. Honestly, unless you're a fan of GGG and need to have a Goldy to go with GX-68, this guy lacks the draw of your average SOC and its questionable why he's a numbered release. But I'm gonna get him because I can't NOT have a Goldion Hammer for my GX-68 -- he'll feel even more inadequate next to my Brave Gohkin GGG who DOES have one (and the Star Parts, but that's another bottle of whine).

You're not alone in this. I mean I understand that these are toys... But this has to be the most "toylike" toy in the SOC lineup.

Well, it's pretty heavy but like most of you mentioned it's more "Transformer" like than the usual SOC. Transformation is very simple unlike the GX-68 which I had to refer to the instructions a few times. BTW, the leg pegs on mine were not tight at all like optimusprimesg mentioned on his review but your mileage may vary. Still a solid toy though although I think it would have been better off as an add on part like Big O's.

They made filler panels for the bottom of the feet because the bottom of the feet are visible in Hammer mode. Unless you have Goldymarg posed looking backwards, you'll never see the hollow legs. I'm not excusing the hollow legs, but I do see why they prioritized filler panels for the feet.

Ok, makes sense but hollow back legs are excusable on a transformer, not a SOC in my opinion. Seems lazy. Cancelled mine. Just not into it so far Man...I just can't get into this. Ok, makes sense but hollow back legs are excusable on a transformer, not a SOC in my opinion. Seems lazy. Cancelled mine. Just not into it so far. I think Bandai was put into a weird position with SOC Goldymarg. People would expect a full transformation since that's always been SOC's main appeal, but at the same time they knew almost everyone would keep it in Hammer mode. I wonder if at some point they considered just making it a dedicated Goldion Hammer. People like you would get the weapon they wanted at a much cheaper price, but some other people would be mad at Goldymarg once again getting left on the backburner with the SRC version.

Well, it's pretty heavy but like most of you mentioned it's more "Transformer" like than the usual SOC. That's because Braves practically are Transformers.

I think GX-69 would have been more palatable if they marked it up a little more and included the Star Parts. That price and those design choices made Bandai's already precarious position more difficult. If I got a little more plastic to make GX-68 an even more "complete" representation of GaoGaiGar, I would have been happy to pay ~$200 USD for a Goldy that was a little HasTak-like in engineering. I also got around to taking a look at those Goldy mods, and man those are some extensive changes to make him look that good. For a TF, mod away, but an SOC shouldn't need that much.

Totally agree. It's an expensive "add-on" to the Gx-68... The mods from Toysdayly I posted turn the base engineering a bit low... I open the box this morning and first impression is : "Oh, it's almost a G1 Transformers"... The bar is really low this time. Orange plastic is... I don't know... It's more a toy than a collectible figure. Only design and proportions are saving this release... Band can do better this time

Here's a few pics attached to Gaogaigar. Just to let you know, you don't have the hammer's handle fully extended. When I get this guy, I think i'm gonna try to modify an Action Base 1 to give Goldy a more dynamic stand. Every pic I see of Goldy attached to GGG looks so...boring. I know the stand doesn't do many favours, but when I imagine GGG and Goldy together, I see this: but the internet is only giving me this: It just doesn't do the Hammer justice.
