Let's put it this way, Studio Half-Eye isn't getting any money from me. Huh? What does Studio Half-Eye have to do with this? Well I actually do transform my toys (I mean come on, they're called toys), and a transforming robot made of resin that costs around 700 dollars to boot doesn't sound like my idea of "fun". I'm just saying that I put value on transformation in toys based on transforming characters. Like, a lot.

I'm still stuck on 30 cm SRC figure thoughts I have the original popy toy and while being able to transform the bot to a station was neat it wasn't exactly dynamic in any shape or form (though them little launching plane thingies are kinda cool.) To each his/her own right as they say.

Guys, I don't think you've seen these: Apparently, another company other than World Scope is also making a Daitetsujin 17 (and 18) figure. From the promotional pictures, the company, Imagine, seems to be a Japanese company. The naming of the figure line, Ultra Alloy, suggest that their figures will also have diecast content, albeit smaller in size than the World Scope figure at 24cm. The best thing, it also seem to transform into the fortress mode (I don't think D-18 transforms). So, for those who are looking for a metal figure of D-17 that transforms, you now have an option. I know I will be really interested. Here is one place which sells them: 203.135.134.135/shop_ud/store/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=564Don't worry, they're legit. I got a flawless Lionbot from them. EDIT: can anyone who reads Japanese confirm that on the material part, the other word that isn't PVC or ABS is indeed diecast, metal or equivalent? Thanks! EDIT 2: according to Google translate, ダイキャスト indeed says diecast

Guys, I don't think you've seen these... Wow Nikodiablo. Great find. Great find indeed. 24 cm is still a very good size, and this one can even transform while still having more poseability than the old Bandai chogokin one.. probably more diecast content too... and they're going to do even 2 more robots from the show? I think we have a winner

So this new D17 from Imagine is planned to be released in October, no need to rush on pre-ordering it. If this toy has LED features, it would be cool if they implement the eye disco lights like in the show.

In the end with Sentai robots I dont like movie accuracy cuz it would look like a man in a suit ya know? id rather it upgraded to like a voltes type body,Super Robot like...the One Seven version that started this thread has a more dynamic look like that,Rather have that than one that is stumpy but transforms..

Oh man, no way thanks but no, this "jumbo" really looks like a man in a costume.. no robot vibe at all. Pass, hehe. The two Daitetsujins being discussed in this thread are a better option IMO. You can even choose, bigger and more articulated, or smaller but transformable. I honestly like them both, but I'll wait for reviews first.

Wow. Who made that? The only part I don't like is the odd bent knee stance. Everything else is so awesome.

@mechanical Flesh: LOL, that's the whole idea. It's a dude in a rubber robot suit. I prefer the Ultra Gokin myself as it transforms. @mr. Ginrai: I believe it's produced by PLEX and Zima (ZEEM?).

Ah. That's a hell of an undertaking for Plex. They've always been a lower quality arm of bandai. They were responsible for things like the second series of gold lightan toys (the white boxes). Better than the dollar grade Japanese toys but not as good as the poor bandai stuff, just below that.
I wonder if zima/zeem is the old Zima/Zee Toys from back in the day. They did really low quality diecast car toys, the Metal Men figures, a bunch of things. I think they were Hong Kong based. I'll have to check.

i do love the man in the suit proportion for man in the suit characters. src daitsujin really turned me off to the otherside. I really really hate Bandai SRCs modern pinhead proportion on these characters.
but all considered, ultra alloy suits best for me.
