The descriptions says it's a "high gloss" version, and the photos look like the plastic has a glossy finish compared to the more textured/matte finish of the regular version.

I finally got my World Scope D17 (after it spent a week in San Francisco customs…). This thing is AMAZING. They put so much love and care into every aspect of this, it just warms my heart. It’s really interesting to see a big robot that would usually be done as a gokin get this kind of toy. It’s been mentioned that the plastic feel and finish is similar to unlicensed Transformers toys like Fansproject and BadCube and that is exactly right on. It makes me want more gokins made like this! I’m definitely down for their D18. Also, since it doesn’t transform in the traditional sense I just made up my own alternate mode. Put the arms at the sides, flip the wings out, bend the knees and turn the lower legs so they fit flush together. It doesn’t peg together at all, but it’s good enough to whoosh him around the room. It doesn’t look like much of anything, but neither does his traditional alternate mode.

Does anyone know any more about the Ultra Alloy D17? The LCM Toy website keeps pushing out the release date (it says March 2016 now) but that's all I can find on it.

Ultra Alloy D17 delayed again (surprise!), this time until 3rd quarter 2016. I'm expecting this to become a 2017 toy. :/

Guys, I don't think you've seen these: Apparently, another company other than World Scope is also making a Daitetsujin 17 (and 18) figure. From the promotional pictures, the company, Imagine, seems to be a Japanese company. The naming of the figure line, Ultra Alloy, suggest that their figures will also have diecast content, albeit smaller in size than the World Scope figure at 24cm. The best thing, it also seem to transform into the fortress mode (I don't think D-18 transforms). So, for those who are looking for a metal figure of D-17 that transforms, you now have an option. I know I will be really interested. Here is one place which sells them: 203.135.134.135/shop_ud/store/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=564Don't worry, they're legit. I got a flawless Lionbot from them. EDIT: can anyone who reads Japanese confirm that on the material part, the other word that isn't PVC or ABS is indeed diecast, metal or equivalent? Thanks! EDIT 2: according to Google translate, ダイキャスト indeed says diecast and what happened to this.. im more interested with this one coz it transforms.

I hope it transforms better than the Bandai version. That thing was a POS.

and what happened to this.. im more interested with this one coz it transforms. Seems like it's lost in development hell, which is strange because there are video review of #18 and #18 Black Version.

I know it's evil of me, and I appreciate and respect all those who love this robot. Heck it is a really cool robot. But every time I look at it I can't help but remember this scene...

I would LOVE a toy of that transforming skyscraper. I've got plenty of cars, tanks, jets & such, I need more wacky stuff.

Unless they issue their version right now, Ultra Alloy is losing momentum fast on the Daitetsujin war...
Good find GGG!
