yeah this DX is idealy sized. great job Bandai and kudos for the artist/ designer/ sculptor. i understand he worked on some srcs too. he must have worked on the later ones with correct head to body proportion.

made more comparison photos using Metal Action Mazingers about the cockpit sizes Great post Kaus, that's exactly what I wanted to see. And this confirms what I though: that Great Mazinger should really be bigger than Mazinger Z, by a large margin. But we don't want to see such a thing portrayed in the shows, or in toy form, so we're fine with having it look just one head taller than Z. Looking at your comparison pics, I'm starting to think about something.. again, this would only work if each robot were correctly shown on screen with correct heights and proportions. I think that, while Great would be several meters taller than Z, it would just be slightly shorter than Grendizer. Tetsuya's and Fleed's cockpits (keeping in mind that Grendizer's glass moustache is also wider than the canopy of the Brain Condor) are almost the same size, in proportion to their robots' heads.

noob question who is that huge robot in the back Daitarn 3 which is 120~ meters tall. @ -, I honestly didn't expect that. So Great Mazinger should be even bigger than the king of space? Professor Kabuto went overboard with the design..

That's because in the 70s, Mazinger Z they had envisioned would look something like this Just like they did in the anime And of course, Mazinger Z that we perceive in modern days would be more like this And have them scaled with the cockpit size, we get.. Seriously, if we scale Mazinger Z's height using the DX SOC, he would be around 40m high. Exactly! If you really want to figure out what the modern (correct) proportions of Mazinger Z really are, take the SOP Hover Pileder & Koji Kabuto figure, scale them with the GX-01's Hover Pileder, and then do the numbers from there. Mazinger Z, in proper(?) proportions, will end up a lot bigger than 30 meters. Hell, even in the Shin Mazinger's anime, the "narrator" mentioned it was 30 meters tall, while questioning the 18 meter specs it has always been given. But who knows, maybe Shin Mazinger was always supposed to be 30 meters tall... despite Nagai's original specs. }D

These are the silliest specs ever given to the Classic Super Robots. The pilots of Combattler and Voltes must be giants. Hell, even if I go with the pot-smoker's specs given to Mazinger and Great Mazinger, of 18 meters and 25 meters respectively, the difference between them is no greater than the length of my pickup truck (about 22 feet). Clearly, there is wayyyy more than 22 feet (pickup truck size) from the top of Mazinger Z's head to the top of Great Mazinger's head on that crazy drawing... }D

What's with Eva there? Does he change his size depending on his mood? No idea who that is, but from the picture I had figured it was some robot that can alter its height. Eva is a he?

Hell, he would actually have Mazinger Z fit in that cockpit I mean these old numbers really gotta go. We need to construct new numbers based on the cockpit sizes, and the end result would be very, very difference from those old ones. Couldn't have said it better myself! }D

interesting subject we are sharing here guys i remember ones i saw this photo on an Italian board for duke fleed height to grendizer head height i also found this photo on the web but cant remember from where see how tall boss borot height to Great Mazinger but in Grendizer when Boss appeared as a guest he was almost as tall as Grendizer so as Kaus said we need a new reasonable numbers because from these robots numbers you can truly fit another robot to pilot it

It's a she. Literally. Normally you'd say "Mazinger Z is a he and Aphrodai A is a she" because of what the robot looks like, or because of the gender of the pilot, right? Well, the EVA 01 (the one shown in the graph) is a woman. A human woman.

Well, the cyborg giants do not have sexes, but at least EVA 01 and EVA 02 have women souls in them (their respective pilots' mothers). }D Yup, that's why I said they were women. They're giant bio-robotic shells with soul of mothers in them (sounds so weird when you try to explain it..). So, I'm stretching it when I say they're women, but deep inside they're and the other EVA units.. that's complicated stuff. Ahh screw it. In the graphs, EVA 01 is shown changing sizes because not only there's no official height given, but it also appears to change size in the anime, constantly I might add. People have done their calculations and comparisons with bits of the environment, at their smallest the units are 40ish meters tall, but they look much taller in other scenes, sometimes up to 200 meters in height.

My first motive is to get the toy to look good on my shelf and on display. After that fact, I'll worry about Scale Size and Schmize later. zozo-mag
