It looks like Bandai is using the same elbow connector gimmick that they used on the original Maz DX at least from what this picture can tell me... noticing the little Red cord pushing mess... if there was one thing they should of borrow from their GX line was to use Magnets or the elbow joints. Hopefully, they improved it this time around. While I do love the DX Maz, that elbow joint mechanism never really sat well with me.

My wife says no more detolfs but hell its worth fifteen minutes of hearing about it when another arrives lol need it If they do make a DX Grendizer I may really have to think about getting another Detolf and trust me my friend my "conversation" with the wife will last a lot more than just 15 minutes... LOL my wifes pretty forgiving but I know alot of dudes herehave similar issuess.

The "dude with the Yoda backpack" background just sells the set like you wouldn't believe.

Is that cable going into the Scramble Dash? Or am I just seeing things?

Just got home from SDCC. Here's a few pics of DX Great Mazinger. Really hard to take decent pics cuz of the huge crowds. very beautiful man dont worry at least we have some high res photos i notice that at the center of the Scramble Dash, the wings looks like it can be opened from this side see the clips ? im not sure is it removable or not Is that cable going into the Scramble Dash? Or am I just seeing things? naah you are not seeing things, they tried to hide it inside the armor but its still clear i guess its to keep the LEDs working without a batteries just like cars show with concept cars

The panels on the wings of the DX Maz could open to reveal the internals. The ones for GM should be able to do the same but I think they had the wings on backwards though.

I do not like that obvious wing panel especially if it's supposed to be to the front and its on backward .they need to include a third wing so he can look normal in non reveal mode.

They just didn't have the right side panel closed properly. If you look at the other side (left), it is actually flushed. But it's still on backwards. :-)

i guess they did it on purpose for display value to show the gimmicks on the wing
maybe unlike Mazinger Z the Scramble Dash wings can be opened from the top only

Perhaps those wings can be reversible, just like the Scrander wings DX Maz... ...front or back, I flip 'em whether I want the panels to be seen or not. As for that cable rigging for that Grt Maz display specimen: THAT rigging treatment should be an included display feature for both (and future) DX robots, even if it's still just battery-operated (or, USB-powered) from a cabled separate switch control base... All that has to be done is install a small 6v or 9v plugin jack into the back of the figure, run the cable out and away, about 3 or 6ft of long wire cable-- and plugged into the switch base. Then the switch base can be AAA or AA battery powered, or USB powered (since USB is low voltage and can power up LED's and small laptop fans). That's a whole electronics aspect unto itself. It can be done by the manufacturer- but it might also drive up the cost of the DX line. ( On that note, you can bet more DXes will follow later on down the road. Expect surprises.) It can be done as a custom rigging... ONLY IF you know Exactly what you're doing and are technically knowledgeable with electronics, especially when dealing with these very small LED lights. Them tiny LED's are not typical LED bulbs, and they can fry and damage the DX very easy if you don't appropriate their voltage with some sort of resistors. And, then of course, some LED's can generate a lot of heat-- thus melting some plastic materials... ...yes, no, maybe so... just assuming the worst scenario, and I certainly wouldn't try it. Uuuuugh! Too much to brainstorming rocket-science over this, just get that DX Great Maz rolling hot off the presses already! zozo-mag

There are some nice heat-safe LED lights available if you look for them online or at your local hardware store.
As for modifying the DX, some folks are technically knowledgeable of electronics, so they pulled it off quite easy. The LED lights inside the DX Maz figure itself are tiny light-emitting microchips attached to small circuit boards and powered at low voltage... those are delicate, and if mishandled they can be easily damaged.
