Jay, think of it as an extension of the lines. First we had the SOC line, then the SRC, then the DX. Now we have the absolute line. Next up, absolute DX! :-D but src gives something that soc does not have. please explain what these do?

This line is 100% die cast which Bandai has not given us before. And being "statues" the proportions and silhouette are spot on. I suspect they made it small to make it affordable and to test market reception. For me, they would look good on my desk or as Gold said, chess pieces. My two cents. :-)

Anyone here have those old Marmit figures that came with comic books? Those were solid diecast too right? Were those articulated?

For those in the U.S., 1 inch = 2.54 centimeters. So if they are 5-7cm, they are between 1.97 and 2.75 inches tall.

They look like gaming pieces. You could expand out the classic Battletech Rules to steal even more classic Japanese Anime! Or put together a really cool chess set.
Or simply do what the name implies... Katamari! Lay them all out in your living room. Get a large sticky ball of silly putty, and start rolling.

Very shiny. Is it heresy to say "too shiny?" I think the sculpt can be better admired when reflectivity is toned down a bit, like the doraemon sculpts in the background.
