What was the retail of that? Was it limited edition or something? Its super expensive now. I paid around 200usd when it was first released some uears back and it was just a regular release. It was also very easy to get one back then.

Wow. I wonder why its such a dramatic increase. You can find pretty much everything else reasonably price, but that is always around 500.

its because the GX-50 is an anniversary version (10th Year Anniversary) it was out in late 2009 i paid $210 or $220 for mine back in 2010 it was my 3rd SOC and i spend 2 hours putting it together lol i would say go for the GX-03 since its MUCH cheaper than the GX-50 but keep in mind its a 16 years old figure at the moment i got my most wanted just the Fewture Black Getter repaint left the rest is on my regular to buy list which is about 20 figures

I generally keep up...so, I guess my answer would be...the next Chogokin? But, if I were to really dabble in vintage, the Tetsujin would be #1.

Yeah, skip the gx-50 if its overpriced. Get the cheapest gx-31 version you can find. More worth it imo

i paid about 80 or 90 for my used gx-03. it is very cool and tight. comes with a lot of accessories. and looks great. yeah, the hips suck but I cannot imagine gx-50 being +400 dollars better than the gx-03 just for moderately improved joints and the energy launch effect for the disks.

i was saying an additional 400 on top of the 80-90 that I already paid for gx-03.
i guess im just broke/cheap. i cant even justify buying voltes when he looks so much like combattler. lol. i kinda want voltes though. i love the sword. i dunno. just passed up one last night in ebay for 180 shipped.

some times when Bandai reissue a figure it help the price to increase in other figures, yes i mean Voltes V 40th anniversary before it the GX-50 wasn't that expensive it cost about $340 new all this talking about the GX-50 made me dust off mine lol i still think its one of the best SOC out there, hope they do a new version or at least a reissue so those who don't have one can have it because its really worth it V

I would love to have a GX-50, but like many here I just can't justify the price difference between it and the earlier version. Yeah the newer one has a few extra accessories and the nice clear cockpits. But they are otherwise near identical versions of the same character. At a 5x price difference? Sorry but I can't make that mental math work.

I am happy with my first release GX-03. Fixed the loose ankle joints a decade ago, and its still a very sturdy figure (more so than the Voltes V). GX-50 is more for folks that don't have a GX-03, or big fans of Combattler V that looking for perfection. GX-03 is good enough to secure its spot in my collection.

I paid $450 for GX-50 and Nanbara connection base (both used and in good shape) a little over 2 years ago. I'm not sure why the price rose so quickly.

How do you fix the loose ankle joints? This is why I stopped thinking to buy the GX-03. A reissue for the GX-50 is not a bad idea. It would be a good timing because of Voltes V.
