Even though it's not closely related to Toy Story, I did see an animated movie some years ago, the protagonists were Buzz and 3 of his friends, an alien chick with phase-through powers, a small robot loaded with gadgets and a huge alien dude who idolized Buzz and also served as comic relief. And by the end of the movie, all 3 of his friends became space rangers and followed him on his adventures (I think this movie was followed by an animated TV series). That group would make for an awesome chogokin combining set. But that's not really related to Toy Story, so I'm not sure we'll see Bandai use them for their next project. It was a Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger TV show and Straight to video movie. Essentially the fictional Buzz Lightyear show that the toy in Toy Story was based on. That they made into a Saturday morning cartoon. Much like Woody was from "Woody's Roundup." I don't think we will see anything from that tv series mixed in with the Toy a Story stuff, but you never know. I don't think anyone was expecting Transitron to be used in a marketing campaign, or have hope of a toy.

Wow! How come I don't remember a thing about Transitron? Now I want him You probably did not see the show he was from. Transitron is from the "Toy story of Terror" short. Yeah, that's right. I just learned from the internet that there's one "OVA" from the Toy Story series that I actually missed. I gotta track that down.

Did anyone get this? I opened mine today and am happy with the individual robots, but the combined mode is pretty crappy (transforming each robot is fun, but they don't come together well); hopefully the combined mode with the upcoming Buzz Lightyear set is better.
My Rex also has a HUGE paint chip on one of its feet - really hope that AmiAmi or Bandai can address that for me.

They all have a very solid feel to them and I can't help but really like Rex and Ham. I'd say those are my favorites. As for the combines mode I can't comment as I haven't put them together yet and I am happy to say I have no QC issues with mine. I am sad to hear that you have a chip in the paint on Rex. I hope that you can get it dealt with however Ami Ami are not known for great after sales service.

I'm probably going to end up getting those for the wife's Disney collection... but I suspect that they will be displayed disassembled in individual character form. The two Combiner are kinds cool and thematic individually. The big final form is a bit of a jumbled visual mess.

A bit of a belated update on this - after supplying a variety of pictures as requested, Ami Ami shipped me a new Rex figure for free. I wanted to report this as you usually just hear about the bad experiences with their CS. I can't wait for the Buzz figure to see if the super-combined form is actually stable! I've had much, much less success with issues with items from their preowned section, even those rated as being in A condition.
