Hey all! First of all, apologies for my tendency to only post when I need advice for a deal. I lurk pretty frequently but often find I don't have a lot to say about most gokin toys—so, I am sorry, and I will try to contribute more as I get more into these figures. Now, here is my situation: A while ago, I was in the market for a Metal Gear Sahelanthropus figure by Sentinel, and a local collector was interested in trading for Fewture Ex Gokin bots. I'm not looking for the Metal Gear any more, but I put some feelers out and someone got back to me with what I think is a good offer for a Getter G Poseidon—I would have to inspect it for paint issues and such, but right now his offer is about $320. Now, I'm not interested in collecting all three, but Poseidon is my favourite design of the bunch and if I had to pick one, that would be it. I also like to keep certain in-demand figures on hand, because often I get trade offers for harder-to-find stuff that I do really want, so holding onto Poseidon could be worth it just for that. So, I have two questions: - What do you think of Fewture's Getter G Poseidon figure? Particularly interested in your impressions if you own it
- Is it popular among Fewture collectors?
Just so I'm totally transparent: I am not interested in flipping this figure, but I do like having things on hand for trades. I would want to display it, at least for a while, but I want to avoid a situation like I recently had with Bandai's Great Impact Gurren Lagann, where I needed cash in a pinch, had a very hard time finding a buyer and ended up selling out of desperation for below cost.

the preorder price at a local retial store for the original colour Fewture Poseidon was around 440, a repaint version currently goes for similar amount on ebay. which version are you looking at?

This is the original version. I actually like Poseidon's repaint colours too, but not Liger or Dragon's

That's a good price if the figure is in good shape. Personally I think Poseidon is the best looking of the Sentinel Getters. Although I don't speak from ownership of them. if the asking price is $330 inspect the figure carefully to make sure it is to your satisfaction. (at $330 it might have some flaws, you have to be the judge of whether they are minor enough to make the cost savings worthwhile.)

yes Fewture Poseidon is a good toy, lots of diecast heavy-duty goodness. i have all 3 (original paintwork). strong shelf presence.
so yeah, do inspect the piece carefully. fewture gokin are known to suffer from a variety of defects (and i am not referring to paint chips). my getter g trio are good. partly because i never touch them anymore after the day i took them out of their boxes the first time and set them up for display.
also do consider the shipping charges if any.

I do worry about that; a few people have complained about fingerprints and dust from the factory in the paint. I don't have equipment to try buffing that kind of thing out, so if it's noticeable than that is a deal-breaker for me. Thanks for the advice.

Most such flaws will polish out with just a little car polish, such as canuba wax and a soft cloth. No equipment needed. Also judge the figure based on what you want it for. Are you looking to display it for your own pleasure? if so a good price with a touch of cleanup is a great deal. Are you looking at it as an investment? Then starting condition will matter more. Etc.

...and I just found out that the repaints come with extra heads, which look more aggressive/evil. Very frustrating; now I cannot get both my preferred headsculpt and paint with one figure. Is there any chance they will release the new heads in old colours?

That's a great price imo. I would've brought that immediately if I had the money. Shipping alone for that item is about $100 to my place in canada.

Damn! I would have to leave it in Dubai with my family here, sadly; the figure is too heavy for me to take back to the USA with me, at least for the foreseeable future. The positive side is that it's a local deal, so no shipping cost. Anyway, I think I will get the cash together and give it a thorough look over; if the finish and joints are in good condition I'll go for it. Thanks for your help, everyone! Still interested in hearing about the repainted version/any of your personal experiences with Poseidon, if you want to share!

the repaint version is called metal beast mode it come with a couple of extra accessories but for me i find the original first release way better
however Fewture recently are reissuing some of their products just a simple reissue, so they might reissue some of the most wanted ex gokins

Hm, alright. Makes my decision a little harder, but if this one is mint without major QC issues then it will probably be as good as any reissue that comes along, and I would be getting it for less than retail. If the reissues contain updated heads, that's just a chance for me to buy them!

then go for man, and by the way fewture is famous for paint QCs but that doesn't mean the figure overall quality is bad, so if you checked it and its good dont wait

I've spoken to the seller now, and he has sent me some close-up shots. Everything looks fine on camera, so I will be heading over tomorrow to examine it in person--and, hopefully, I'll be walking away carrying a heavy Fewture box. Anyway, I'll post an update if I end up getting it. I know plenty of people have already talked about this one, but getting buzzed about a figure is always fun.

Yeah...260 in shipping, yes i said $260 usd to get it in few days via UPS to california.... Cheapest Around $50 by boat...but id get it in around three months.
$100 sal shipping fee to get it in Few weeks is a nice compromise. If youre not in a hurry, I personally would pick the $50.

Hey! That's a great price, but shipping looks to be a killer. Still, cheaper than it originally sold for. I am worried about paint issues though. Would rather see all my Fewture purchases before buying to make sure they're pristine, or make sure I know a seller who will definitely check for me and report honestly. The impression I get from stories of NY customer service is that they will not do that.

Yeah, AE doesnt do jack squat for customers either...... If you want customer service stay far far away from AE.
The stores that have the Best CS so far as I know are Amazon and BBTS. Anime Island seems cool too.
But i dont know too many stores that would open expensive collector product to check defects for customers. Amazon and BBTS would just rather accept return on defectives.

Agree, doubt any stores or independent online sellers would be willing to open a sealed box just to check for defects. To be fair, It would be impossible for them or even toy manufacturers (especially fewture) to do business if everyone starts rejecting toys based on the slightest problems. The only way to be safe is to buy a used (ie opened) set and you will get to inspect it.
