To be fair, those comments were made before the announcement of SoC Voltron who people thought was impossible because of licensing and not much popularity in the East. And even then, most fans thought they were okay with their Legacy Megazords. Boy were they wrong. SO. VERY. WRONG. even so never say never lol and i was kidding man, its just that people think negatively and keep saying no that wont happen, this year i saw not just 1 but 3 figures got a chance to be done properly I could cry now. I dont care who laughs no one will bro, we will look away and give you tissues

I know people are going to be disappointed by this but, Bandai trying to reach new a new collector base is never a bad thing. The line was pretty much stagnant after the GGG releases. Now it seems like their trying to breath some fresh air into it. Hopefully the line continues with the old classics that still deserve that definitive figure along with newer classics like this.

Wow Three SOC announcements in 2016, its about time for them to restore the SOC Line, hope they can keep going for a couple more Super Robot releases. As for SOC DaiZyuJin I don't know I might get it or might not its a 50-50 question to me I do have the SRC ver. & I like it as for this one time will tell. Now The BIG Question: is this going to be A Stand-A-Lone SOC OR are they going with the route of full team robots with the ability to combine with DaiZyuJin to form Ultimate DaiZyuJin? If they are going with that route then prepare your wallets to dry.

like lejam, I'm too old to like this power ranger robots. bandai knows what they're doing, but a super robot would've been better, like dai apolon or dairugger.

It's like a dream. SOC Daizyujin announced weeks after SOC Golion. Man oh man what a great time to be a toy collector.

Someone shot some video of them. Warning you might want to mute it as the music choice is down right awful...

Cant wait. Bandai please, I want the source accurate "big head" on the robot....not like stylized pinhead SRC.

Really thrilled that SoC is alive and kicking. Megazord is a great addition and with that, I can see lots of other sentai bots coming.
Although it's too early to tell, it looks like it will be transforming into one huge robot. I do hope they keep the scale in line with the other Socs. And not sure if it's just me, the colours used on these animals make it look real plasticky. Dino also looks out of whack with limbs that seem too long.
All that said, I can't wait for "Battle Mode"! I'm pretty sure SoC wont disappoint on the full picture!

Not much we can do as Daizuijin himself looks more toy-like than say some of the older Soul of Chogokin releases added with the relative simplicity in transformation.

Yes, I know it'll combine, I failed to stress on the word 'HUGE' though, which was what I meant, scale wise. Not much we can do as Daizuijin himself looks more toy-like than say some of the older Soul of Chogokin releases added with the relative simplicity in transformation. You do have a valid point there. Still, if they used those metallic colours, it would help to distract from the plastic sheen. Still too early to tell though, I'm keeping my hopes high.

I would like to remind everyone, these are early resin mock prototypes that don't even have all the joints worked in yet. These were painted just to show proof of concept and are probably solid resin blocks at this point. Since this is SOC the silvers will be metallic, the blue looks metallic and so on. I'm sure the finish will be excellent on the final product.

To remind anyone... it was a month ago everybody was bemoaning the death of the SOC line... and now... I somehow sensed that this one would be coming after they saw the response to Voltron. But damn! I did not expect it to be already in the pipeline. I think Bandai has finally realized that they have a North American market. (of course after this GX-73 will be yet another Mazinger Z. Only this time with a slightly more wry smile. Bandai doesn't like staying too far from their comfort zone to fast.)

So, just to clarify...this will be a more posable/articulated version of the Legacy Megazord they released a couple years back...? Cuz, that was a pretty darn good toy.

So, just to clarify...this will be a more posable/articulated version of the Legacy Megazord they released a couple years back...? Cuz, that was a pretty darn good toy. Most likely much more metal. Much more posability. Much more detail and a perfect or near perfect transformation. Especially on the animals. Even the higher end Legacy Megazord offerings are kind of lacking in the animal forms. I imagine it would be like comparing the earlier largely plastic Brave toys with the SOC GX-68 GaoGaiGar. The Megazord, like GaoGaiGar may also leave room for several additional "add on" robots, would it not? Such as the Dragonzord? Plus it's a gateway to a whole bunch of other fascinating robots. (Sorrty Boricua, but honestly the designs are worth exploring.)
