Excellent review gold!
This is the first review I've seen that details the differences between the old and the new. Thanks!! I like the old blue a lot better. But Baikanfu himself looks much nicer in the new one.
Other than the hands and head and back between the shoulders, no sculpt changes. Right? It's surprising how much better Baikanfu looks with such subtle changes.

Yeah I have both I prefer the original. I like colors on the original and head seems too small on new one and hands too big. I thought wrist issue would be fixed but appears the same to me. Eventually I'm going to get rid of new one.

Glad you guys enjoyed it. Thanks Locidm, yes, as far as I can tell that's about it, as far as sculpting goes, new hands, head and back. There was a rumor a while back about new feet, but it looks the same to me. Gold

During the finale of the TV series, Rom receives his brother's sword the Nagase (Shooting Star). He combines both swords to finish off Gadess, the leader of the Gyandlar empire. WTF SPOILERS DUDE!!!

Low quality picture for now. Loved the anime Machine Robo & absolutely an excellent release. He's now one of my favorites. I want SoC Gordian!!

The Bad -Still can't move his shoulders forward to 90 degrees. All Baikanfu and Kenryu can do are still just elbow flexing and armpit widening stances (same as the original). Hey Gold, I was able to rotate his shoulders forward 90 degrees without issue. I finally picked up GX-39R with the 20% OFF coupon on ebay. Was under $200 shipped. Was hard to resist. The design definitely shows its age. But even just standing there, it looks pretty good and impressive on the shelf. The thing that bugged me the most were the ugly nub marks on the back of the lower legs and the gaps in Bankanfu's biceps. Seem like easy upgrades.

Is it just me, or is it scary hard to peg this guys hands in? I finally broke down and got one. Gorgeous piece overall. I know it’s not perfect and is an older design. But that whole Russian nesting doll robot gimmick is just so neat.

But that whole Russian nesting doll robot gimmick is just so neat. Yeah, the first time is scary. Kenryu's pegs are larger than the holes on the hands. Baikanfu is the opposite, where it feels like the hands might just fall off, though they stay on like magic.
