It's a sad chapter in Mazinger Z's series. I never liked this ending, and I don't like seeing Mazinger Z like this. Mazinger Z shouldn't need rescuing by anyone, not even Great Mazinger. I don't need an SOC to constantly remind me of this. It's not like Gaiking's and Daiku's series, where they stand victorious at the end and in one piece, without need for anyone to rescue them. There, how's that for talking out of this? That's how I talked myself out of it. it was sad yes but thinking about it, Mazinger z wasn't a %100 and it was already damaged from the other battle, in most of the episodes Mazinger z was damaged badly yet Koji find away to fight and win and thats forever epic also that was just an ending of a chapter, at the end of Great Mazinger they both stand victorious at the end with some minor damages for me thats a trophy figure to prove that Mazinger z will fight no matter what

Does Bandai Premium charge upfront or at time of shipping? Not entirely sure but from reading the user guide, they do ask you to log in to your PayPal account so they might be charging upfront.

Different people, different preferences and opinions. I'm a huge Mazinger Z fan, but this is just not for me. Don't get me wrong. I am definitely glad this SOC was made, since many Mazinger Z fans had been asking for this for many years.

The fact that Koji never gave up was a credit to his character. sure Great came in the end to help out but the favor was returned at the end of the Great Mazinger series when Mazinger came in and helped Great out. So for me their one for one

Don't need emotional attachment or reasoning for this purchase. To me, its just darn cool to own a battle damaged Maz (even though I like the movie too). I skipped on the add-on set for GX-70. This GX-70D will be my add-on instead.

So for me their one for one I actually never saw the movie. My childhood memory of damaged Mazinger Z is from the final episode, which is similar to the movie but different. In the final episode, I don't believe Mazinger Z takes Great Mazinger's sword to defeat one or two enemies like he did in the movie. I believe the damaged Jet Pilder gets knocked off Mazinger Z's head with Koji in it. Koji and Mazinger Z are left for dead laying on the field. The enemies walk away, then Koji regains contentiousness briefly only to see Great Mazinger fly by after the enemies, then Koji loses contentiousness again. Great Mazinger takes over at this time and we never see Mazinger Z fight again, never again. To me and to much of the audience in Latin America at that time, it seemed Mazinger Z was defeated, then sent to the junk yard for scrap since we never see him again, and Koji is sent to study abroad. I never saw the Great Mazinger series because it was never shown where I was at the time. I didn't know Mazinger Z makes a come back at the end of Great Mazinger. Thanks for that. I looked it up and saw parts of it on YouTube. It looks cool, but hardly looks like Mazinger Z saves Great Mazinger. It looks like the two Mazingers team up with Diana and Venus to defeat the enemy. I personally believe the powers that be tried to get rid of Mazinger Z and Koji to move on to new things, then realized how popular Mazinger Z and Koji really are, and decided to bring them back at the end of Great Mazinger, Koji appears in Grendizer, then both Koji and Mazinger Z come back in Shin Mazinger, Mazinkaiser and now in the new animated movie they are working on. Can't wait to see the new Mazinger Z movie.

Just pre-ordered one from Bandai America, even if you don't like the figure buy one anyways. Show Bandai that fans like it when they do different stuff plus I'm pretty sure this WILL go up in price after the sale is over.

This GX-70D will be my add-on instead. Everyone's different and that's okay. For me personally, if I'm going to spend this much precious money on collectible toys, and take up precious limited space in my home for these collectible toys, I better have a very strong emotional attachment(positive, nostalgic memory) to these toys and to the characters they represent. This also helps me keep my collection focused and at a reasonable size. Otherwise, there are much more important things to spend money on such as saving to buy a home or paying down a mortgage, saving for emergencies, saving for kid's college, saving for retirement, family vacations, etc.. Now, If I were wealthy and had unlimited funds and unlimited space, I'd probably have my own personal, collectible toy museum. I'd even open it up to the public free of charge.

The fact that its not getting a US release is limiting this one even more. it will definitely shoot up in price.

Can't wait to see the new Mazinger Z movie. The movie looks a lot more epic than the TV depiction. While Maz Z got defeated, it was way outnumbered, and still did good damage while at it. But it was completely defeated by just 2 badies in the TV final episode. No wonder it left you a sour taste/memory of it. Pretty much the movie shows the hero's last stand against impossible odds, while in TV ending it just got bullied to a bitter end by just 2 dudes...

But even then Z/Koji has a heart of lion. A true warrior....
I mean how many men would get beat to a pulp with serious injury knowingly he would die, STILL crawl to go after the same baddies? And i dont know too many people who can take on two nasty pyschopathic bullies at once. Especially two bullies who are bigger and stronger then you who just want to see you die.
I know he is a fictitious but my hats off to him. Much respect. I just get so emotional about Z....let me just wipe these sweat off my eyes.

This is how it should be. Given this is round 2, which Mazinger Z already beat up a bunch of dudes in the city and suffered quite a bit of damage already. For the full fight, but no subtitles, watch this one below. Unfortunately the human drama scenes were cut out. Now THAT is the real Mazinger Z's final moments (the old school one at least ).
