That is actually a good idea Kuma - SOC Transformers, I wouldn't mind if they are non transforming, as long as the details, die cast and overall presentation is there. I recently gave up on Transformers after collecting SOCs and Metal Builds, the MP line is still great, but after handling gokins - they are just on a different level. Don't get me wrong, the MP line is a very cool and awesome line, especially that MP 2.0 Megatron, wow! Honestly, you don't need to be apologetic for dropping all of that plastic TF stuff for this, because even I did by-and-large. As you said, it's off-putting to handle that stuff after getting acquired to the high-end stuff. And it's not a "good to bad" comparison but "really good to HOLY sh*t f**kING $$%$%$%#$." Personally, I think it's an area where Bandai could come in and just clean the eff up. I think Flame Toys' Drift is really going to open a lot of eyes to those kinds of possibilities.

Yes, you are correct - gokins are just on a different level! When I used to have TFs in the same cabinet w/ my gokins my brother in law mentioned that the TFs were too plasticky and looked like toys - so yeah, coming from people who don't collect figures. I hope Bandai tackles TFs, we would very much welcome that! Yes, I saw that Flame Toys Drift - looks really good

Not sure if Zanda Cross can make it. Its been done quite a few times... So I don't know, man... man forget about the GX-76, now i want a DX ZANDA CROSS and those gold guys are Gundam cross not ZANDA CROSS joking aside, i came very close to order the RS version but its just not that good looking toy, you feel like they did it without paying any attention to details also the paint is so bright, i want them to make a true recreation of Zanda Cross something more like the design from the old movie (the original 1986 movie) but with modern touches something close to this and if they add the ability to be able to take it apart and build it again that's will be insane man even an SRC will do it i just need this robot in my collection and if Daizyujin got a chance why not this guy

Seeing tetsuryu post in general actually got me thinking... what if it were a Transformer? I know it might sound pretty far out, but it wouldn't be the first company that Hasbro's given license to to make homages to their characters. Looking at Action Toys, Fewture Models, Toys Alliance, Ori Toy, Flame Toys, etc. etc... a lot of companies have been making some pretty wicked Transformer character toys as of recent albeit non-transforming. I thought everybody knew the one important thing about HasTak licensing of Transformers. They license the stuff out to other companies, even collectable toy makers. But the one hard and fast absolute rule in this licensing is "It Cannot Transform". Basically other companies can make Optimus Prime Statues and Action Figures, so long as they cannot actually Transform. Only Hasbro/Takara can make Transformers that can Transform. This is a policy that will likely never change in our lifetimes. It has legal reasons behind it and is integral to protecting their IP.

But then you get your hands on a real Gokin... and it's just not the same. Yeah you stay with the MP's for awhile. But eventually you hit the point of "I'm paying how much for this plastic?" at which point you are a full on Gokin addict and nothing less will satisfy.

Yes, TFs are more for nostalgia, like wow, 80s toons coming to life then I got my first chogokin which was Voltron (got it from Japan) and my jaw dropped on the floor - very heavy die cast, detailed, the paint finish, wow! Then I got Voltes V, again, lots of gokin, the transformation etc..... So alot of gokin collectors went thru this stage, I saw a guy in a FB group selling all of his TFs to fund SOCs. Especially the Takara Mall exclusives, they are expensive - and yeah I never looked back Anyway...I hope Bandai official reveals this mysterious Gx76

Nothing in your quoted post from me implied surprise or lack of knowledge at that standard for license sharing. In fact, it was specifically pointed out, so I don't really get what's happening with this response. ------------------- I hate to throw a log on the fire, but I'd love a Zanda cross as well. Obviously it's more of a Metal Build thing, but that SoC fit and finish would look so marvelous...

I see, which explains the likes of Hot Toys, 3A, Prime1, Toys Alliance, ArtStorm have TFs but non transforming bots.

Yep. Literally the only one I can think about skating by with the slightest transformation is that sentinel optimus pen but I THINK that was a partner thing where Sentinel did the designing and it was produced under the Takara branding.

Well I don't care if Transformers are all plastic. That isn't the reason I collect this stuff.

Who said anything about not collecting Transformers because they're all plastic? Posters who aren't you and have the right to their preference. I have no problem answering a direct question with a direct answer. Let me rephrase the previous post for you; No one said anything about why you collect Transformers. No reason to get defensive (again.) --------------- Edit: There's no right or wrong to collecting in general, so I don't understand why differing preferences are considered a negative or slight by some. The diversity is an awesome opportunity for people to see and learn about stuff they may not otherwise. It's a great thing.

Another thing I'd like for a potential GX-76 is ExKaiser. The Takara MP is still pretty rad, but honestly giving it the SOC treatment and opening up the doors for other characters would be amazing. Dino Guyst plz.
