I should just first state that I will absolutely buy every freaking SoC release under the sun because I love this line. BUT...I must ask peeps such as yourself: Are you ever tired of rehashing the same character that you already have (after all Getter Dragon already got released) and would you rather not see a new mold/character? I mean, like sure, I was all over the DC releases but end of the day, a slimmer version of Mazinger et al was just yet another "iteration" of a repeated Go Nagai character that Bandai has gone reboot-city on as well as OTHER toy manufacturers...I have so many Mazinger Zs. And if they do a DC, well, that's another yet another Getter (be it Dragon or the honey-comb face)... It depends. Maybe theres a type of collector who buys only one type of character.. like a Mazinger collector. Ofcourse he wont get tired with Bandai's obssession with Mazinger releases hehe.. Or another type who is just one figure per robot collector.. the one looking for the best available figure.. then moves on to the next. This is the guy who often gets disappointed if theres a lack of options available.. either buy an ET or a Revoltech... coz Bandai's not doing it. He has a list and it aint short. Then theres what u call more of a Nostalgic collector.. this guy just buys what he loves and doesnt care if he has two or three Voltron's. As long as it makes him happy. Those robots maybe a few to a dozen.

Those robots maybe a few to a dozen. Yeah, I was just wondering because whenever there is an announcement/reveal of the NEXT [insert toy-line] figure, there is usually some grumblings about how Robot-ABC was not selected instead. The part I was curious about was, well, how come if that specific mech already had an iteration earlier in the line. So, using Getter Dragon as an example, it was already released twice by Bandai in 2 different iterations (18 and 51) and so, I was legitimately wondering what made a peep like tiffermore want another one versus a never-released robot instead. Again, I'm not hating on his reaction, was just more curious. I mean, fark, I just bought yet ANOTHER freaking Mazinger Z (Chrome Noir ver.) and going by my inventory, it will be the 23rd Bandai-versioned Mazinger Z I have NOT counting the iterations by other companies like Artstorm/Fewture and etc. It was just for discussion really.

I'm the third type...i buy what i like. If I have the funds that is... i prefer robots from Mazinger and Getter universe but if it's cool looking I'm gamed.
If its same character, if its one of my favorite, i dont mind buying it again as long as it is good quality. I don't usually double dip in repaint as I rather have new molded figure.
But given a choice between another MB Great Mazinger (Its inevitable it seems) or MB Infinity Mazinger at exact same quality and same price, i would like to think I will buy Infinity.

That is a really fun collection Tiffer. Thanks! . . . I can only display ten at a time due to the managements request... Heh. "management" . . . I like the way you put that. ;) . . . As for what types of collectors are out there, I think everyone's different; their own beast. And as for what kind of collector I am . . . :)
