Truly a premium collection! Must be hard for Getter fans with limited budget. Luckily, I know nothing about getter. LOL It's a struggle. I'm a huge Getter fan, but I missed out on the upgrade parts thinking they would still be available after the preorder deadline First of all welcome aboard Mate, Please don’t tell you passed on the figure since you didn’t get the upgrade parts ...... TH’x

I wonder what the delay is for. I thought this exclusive sold well so it can’t be lack of orders, right? Maybe the factory messed up? Anyway, Winter Wonder Festival is coming up Feb 10 and I am hoping Sentinel will be previewing Devolution Getters 2 & 3. A guy can hope.

Delays for Sentinel figures aren't uncommon. Shin Getter was delays three months I believe and it is surprising the devolution one wasn't. With the Chinese New Year coming up I imagine they won't be shipping until March.
I am hoping also that we see a Getter 2 and 3 from Sentinel, we need a complete team.

Re: Black GEtter
Even though it's listed as end of February, we could start seeing payment requests for the Black Getter Devolution G1 as soon as the end of this week. The postal service is going to be completely reopened by then so it's just on Sentinel and when they want to send it to retailers if I'm guessing correctly. Just throwing it out there in case anyone's planning around it financially.

The Black should be here by Tuesday. I will be making a separate thread for it if one is not created at the time as it's a separate item.

It looks really awesome. I cancelled mine when the price of the wings skyrocketed, mentally I am unable to keep a figure without its upgrades and I felt really uncomfortable paying the price they are asking for that parts. I can say though this is a great and unique figure

The evolution of Getter One. So glad I managed to get this Devolution Getter 1 this day and time without mark-up. It was one of the regrets I didn't buy when it was readily available, and became hard to come by without paying an extra $100 or more. Was watching ToysTV's live stream on ACGHK Toy Show some weeks ago, when they got to Sentinel's booth and shown this was selling there on discount with physical stock! That got me curious to check on D4Toys (Sentinel's partnered online shop) and BAAAM!!! There it is, in stock and still at regular retail. I am guessing these are leftover dead stock that they dug up mainly for the show. While there was no discount, I am just glad that I get the chance to buy one at retail. So did another collector friend of mine, which we both jumped on the opportunity right away! Turn out the figure is top notch. It feels very solid with tight joints everywhere. Major joints are diecast and this time Sentinel made them very visible, gave it a more premium feel. While figure not that heavy, it does have some heft. Nothing is loose or wobbly, even if you shake it. And surprisingly, the figure can stand and balance quite well with its tiny feet design, as long as you manage to get the feet sit flush with the ground with the ankle rocker. The design is wonderful, the paintjob is almost flawless, the wired cape is very awesome and poseable with multiple pieces of wire inside. A very stylish robot figure overall. While I like Sentinel's Shin Getter 1 more as an iconic character and design, this Devolution Getter 1 is probably the better Riobot release.

Just finished reading the whole Getter Robo Devolution manga, and sadly to say, it wasn't as good as I hoped it would be. Like Eiichi Shimizu and Tomohiro Shimoguchi's Ultraman series, Getter Robo Devolution has quite a bit of mysteries, plot twists, and shocking moments going in, with a very different angle on how they approach the classic tale of Getter. It started out very intriguing and made me ask questions why Ryoma is a high school kid, why do weird things happen like this, and why did so and so show up...etc. But towards the middle, it started to lose steam as more and more questions got answered but sometimes without much of a payoff, or answers just continue complicating the plot even more and got very convoluted. While I like the more science-themed story approach instead of fighting ancient spirits or deities in some of the later anime series, the story doesn't have a lot of meat once you started to figure out what was going on. And then the plot was delivered in a pretty confusing way later on that I start losing patience with it around volume 3 and 4, but just want to finish the last volume 5 to get to the end. Another thing that disappoints is the action. While they were a lot better in Ultraman, here, the action is very simplistic without much layers. There weren't much long intricate action sequences or long fights. Getter change once or twice, a couple punches or hits here and there, Getter Beam, and its done. And the action panels are also not very clearly drawn on what is going on, if that was a punch or a kick...second guessing the action sequences. The mecha design is awesome though, therefore the awesome looking Riobot release. And for those that like Getter Emperor, you see a lot of it here. A lot more so than Ishikawa's!
But yeah, it is just a mediocre manga, with some cool stuff & elements in it, and a very intriquing beginning, but not that great as a whole.
