Its finally coming. There seems to be some diecast content (more than I expected). I'm really excited about this one. I hope it turns out great. I will bite the bullet with this one. Its albegas and it is in the right scale hmmm.. they almost took the the vintage toy popy's transformation. i hope it wont break as same as the old one LOL Youre right about the scale they did which would be good with other Voltrons. Action Toys just revealed what could be a new Albegas.. but i dont think its as big as the Future Quest release. It might be a Mini Gokin just like thier Daiapolon.

Its albegas and it is in the right scale I just saw this video freshly coming from the Action Toys Albegas thread. Most of it looks great in the video, but what's with the floppy arm joints? I'm really hesitant with buying anything from ET. I might rely on one of you to give me your honest review on it before I were to make a purchase on this. I am also surprised that in this day and age, ET decided to still use plastic for the grooves where the metal T slots slide into. Is it because die-cast contact to die-cast contact is bad? (green arrows) Those of you who own the vintage Albegas/Voltron II know that these connection points are very weak, fragile and prone to breaking on the original. I am not happy at all that ET went with plastic on these connection points. Ughh.

On the original - the black Alpha Robo, and red Gamma Robo's plastic hip joints/sliders don't break - they're absolutely no problem. But the fragile blue Popy plastic is another story. I cut the tape on a sealed Beta Robo, and GENTLY slid the hip out for combination - and it snapped immediately in several places. The issue is purely the vintage blue plastic. Not using diecast should't be a concern on ET's (I stress SHOULDN'T).

and floppy arm joints might just be a case of it being a prototype..

To me, in that video it looked floppy as hell. Seemed like the person doing the combination was really trying hard not to make it look like a floppy mess. With the Action Toys one announced, ET's version is an easy pass for me.

I'm not liking how the chest blocks are all one piece. It looks like its unlikely that very front of each chest will have separate chrome parts that fit in. Unless what we saw in the video was an early prototype.

Delayed to March 2019... seems we may see more of the action toys one before deciding if this was caused by sudden unexpected Action Toys' Albegas release.. its aint bad. ET might tweak some issues... or just probably not.

thing is with alot of delays the expectations bar will go higher and higher

Evolution Toy's Tetsujin-28 also got delayed before it was finally released. Actually several times. And the final release was just "ok". Just saying.

I think it has nothing to do with action toys, it's just ET delaying things as always. Besides waiting maybe a bad move if action toys shows more (in fact at the moment I'm more interested in the ET one but it may change)

my point is, with every delay customers will think, oh they must fixed this, fixed that, improved quality
so they kinda have a higher expectations for the figure

We have to remember when it comes to ET.. u gotta adjust your expectations a few notches lower. If it turns out suprisingly a good figure...its just a bonus.

There's one thing I have to give Evolution Toys credit for though. And it is their attention to detail by including accessories that the diehard fan of the related anime would enjoy. Their Super Metal Action Tetsujin-28 set did come with a couple Shotaro Kaneda figurines, Shotaro's Clipper speeder, and the booster carrier. Likewise for this Albegas, they're including Daisaku, Tetsuya and Mizuki's individual Abega vehicles in their various transformations. And they are including all the weaponry just like the Dynamite Action version. So for that, I can give them credit where due. I just hope the overall quality can live up and not feel "cheap" like Tetsujin 28 did.

I agree with u. They do offer extras as a way to compensate. That booster carrier is cool! Although their products do feel cheap with most of thier releases.. except a few. I said "few" coz i would argue that not all ET releases were letdowns. One example is thier Dynamite Action Steel Jeeg Old Model. I love it! Very good figure with tons of accessories. I could probably say it was an error and made from a different factory with a different management lol I hope this Albegas is an "error"

I'm ok with ET standards (I own their albegas, kotetsu jeeg and panteroid, gaiking, groizer X and used to have getter robo and getter dragon. Missed their gakeen). I know what I get when I go with them. But with this albegas its uncharted territory, they are working in a big combiner, without magnets and adding metal so the result is mostly uncertain. I love the sculpt of this one, not so much its back (looks too crowded) and the individual bots. I was sure of getting it until AT showed theirs, I'm not so sure about the sculpt and details in the transformed version but individual bots look better. And I don't own any AT figure but they seems pretty solid figures. I can't make up my mind this time...

Love ET Jeeg.
That's what got me to collect ET (though I dont buy ETs now). Other couple of stuff is really really good too. The Rest is forgettable. I dont know about now but back in the days, Their sculpt WAS the industry leading...arguably the best.
I will def try out AT at some point when they do a character i like. I hear nothing but good stuff of them.

I dont want Albegas to be dwarfed by Miracle's Dairugger XV and Bandai's Golion. Love ET Jeeg. That's what got me to collect ET (though I dont buy ETs now). I could include Poseidon, New Getter 1, Daiguard as personal favorites too.. those GK exclusive Great Mazinger Generals seems nice though i dont have it.. its true.. the rest are subpar.

I just gave into the dark side and preordered this Future Quest Albegas with Amiami. It's like going back to an ex-girlfriend that you know is no good for you. But you think it will be different "this time."
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over, and expecting a different result. lol I'm just too big of a fan of this robot to sit on the sidelines and not have it. I really hope this toy does not suck, but I am willing to be an early guinea pig to find out. I love Albegas too much.
