Got one of these at the con and it's quite a nice piece. While I don't normally go for black repaints, I liked that this one was themed to fit with the upcoming Dragonzord. Seeing as how fighting mode or whatever is my favorite combination from the original show, it was an fairly easy sell.
Bad news though, that I didn't notice until after I was home, his left shoulder is missing its ratchets. Since everything is reasonably tight, it's not a huge problem at the moment, but I'm sure it'll be an issue in the future. I've emailed bluefin about a replacement for the arm or mammoth or w/e is easiest. Never had to deal with their customer service before but I don't have a ton of faith about a fix. I thought about taking it apart myself and seeing if maybe it was something that could be remedied on my own. But without any super obvious ways to disassemble the arm (I see screw covers with paint on them that'd almost certainly get chewed up) I guess I'll have to sit tight and see what happens.
Anyone had experience with Bluefin's direct CS for replacement parts?

Anyone had experience with Bluefin's direct CS for replacement parts? Just to clarify, you think you have a defective copy, or do you suspect it might be a flaw in the figure? I'm asking because my friend picked me up a copy from the con and I'm pretty sure I won't have it in hand for months.

I've scoured the internet since I opened this on Sunday for any reports of the SOC Megazord missing ratchets in his arm and I could find literally no other posts. About the black version or the regular. Might not hurt to have your friend check, but I probably just got unlucky.

Oh damn. I finally had time to combine Megazord and it’s so bad ass looking. Don’t sit on this one. When you get it in your hand you might just hide original gx-72. It just looks so good.

I can’t wait to combine this with the Dragonzord, which is arriving tomorrow. I’m usually not a fan of black repaints, but I really dig how they designed it to pair perfectly with Dragonzord.

Excuse the rant to come. I purchased 2 from eBay. I got both at retail price with free shipping. Good deal. The seller even upgraded to priority.
However. The seller decided not to pack the item and just shipped in shipper with no packing material. The shipper is a thin box offering no protection. Of course both boxes came crushed. I hope the pictures load below so you can see. This has been a common phenomenon lately. Sellers and even businesses ship with no protection or even a box. Is it unreasonable for me to expect the item to be packed? I understand I can not expect mint package. However the condition I have been receiving packages has only gotten worse. I’m 45 and have been collecting for many years. All my packages in the past have always been packed well. Not any more. Both established businesses and private sellers no longer take any pride and pack items well. I also sell on a ya and would never send a package like this. It has gotten bad enough that I no longer want to spend my money on collectibles.
It should be obvious that I’m a collector and might expect my item to come in un damaged condition. If the seller had contacted me and let me know that he would be unable to ship free and offer a box I would have gladly paid extra for shipping. There seems to be no pride in business any more. No customer service.
Unable to post pictures. Here's an unboxing I did.

My Lego Voltron arrived in similar fashion. Not as bad as yours. But ya, I'd be annoyed about those dinged corners.

oh wow thats bad
you can easily ask for a partial refund or a replacement
most store will send it in another box just in case at the end you are the one who pay for shipping

So my friend who attended SDCC and got this for me should be getting this to me in about a month. Hopefully I'll get my GX-78 before then!

This guy is badass, but as I expected, I always get a bit down seeing double. Repaints are my collecting nemesis. Tried switching the legs and sword/shield to make him more of a reverse Megazord.

It's been a couple of years since I discovered this forum but I never registered & I kept putting it off for whatever reason & when I was casually checking this thread I came across Batsugun21's post. I immediately went to eBay & got that SDCC Megazord at retail price & ever since I wanted to show my appreciation but the late membership approval delayed that. Yesterday I received the figure & my what a beautiful piece it is. The slick black look & the weight was a surprise too since I never got the original release, I know what y'all thinking "Are you crazy?" well yes but frankly at the time I didn't see the need to revisit this franchise but that variant got me in the end so thank you for that link.
