new pics
ALL RIGHT RESERVED
joking aside
it gets harder to resist getting this figure with every new photo for it, and this isn't even fully painted yet
well if any of the legit stores offers it i will preorder
more photos
Did they officially license this? I can't imagine Bandai letting this go with the voltron name is this isn't a legit deal. If it's official now I wonder if more stores will carry it.

this design was ... lets say "inspired" by another guy work
Bandai license to do a figure was expired long ago, they dont own Voltron the one who does is WEP
and nope its not an official release, also its very unlikely for other stores to carry it

Pretty tired of these companies faking copyrights that they clearly don't have. As nice as it looks, dumb sh*t like that makes me want no part of it.
Act like every other 3P and just own your IP infringement.

Act like every other 3P and just own your IP infringement. Isn't it the loop hole that makes third party possible that the designs themselves aren't copyrighted but the names are? It'll suck if they shoot themselves in the foot and Bandai shuts them down for using the voltron name.

It's sheisty and even more so stupid.

Factories are popping up all over now and they are creating jobs and bring business to those countries. Mad toys beast king and Icarus Toys voltron were prevented from being sold here because WEP contacted the resellers directly, like Big Bad Toy Store. Icarus Toys Voltron sold out and, from what I understand, most buyers were from USA.

No matter what, they're a business and the reasoning behind everything they do is sales/income. I don't want to derail with going on about it; was jusr saying that I feel it's a low brow way to market. That's all.

Maybe you guys can help clarify something for me. As I’m seeing these promo pics I keep wondering how a company no one has ever heard of has the knowledge and resources to make something like this?

It's because a company name being new doesn't equate to ut being their first product. For example, if Sentinel didn't openly advertise it being a child brand, Flame Toys would just look like this company that came out of no where producing the (subjectively) best Transformers figures on the market. 3rd party companies seem to regularly produce different IPs or genres under different names and a lot of designers are connected so float between companies for different projects.

what are you talking about ? you have the GX-71 and the KOB, it just CANT get any luxurious than these two you earn the serious collector rank if you have more than 25 figures lol
I was mostly kidding, Bro. A luxury knock-off?? It's getting harder to resist this thing, though. As for luxury Voltrons - I think these 2 qualify: Not sure I did the quote thing right but does this make someome a serious collector owning the Popy golion that was reproduced in 1997 by the guys that own the original molds and negatives for the box art. I've seen those sell for 2500 and up some guys own these and dont even know they weren't made in the 80s but have no fear even the guys that know they are made in 97 have no problem forking over 2500.00 for them. Imagine being able to buy a mint brand new popy golion as it was put on the shelf originally in the 80s. Perfect box, bright colors, mint toy, shiny pa8nt and chrome with only one way to know for sure if it is a reproduction and that is a secret between the guys that have these and being one of these guys I still would pay 2500.00 for one in the condition mine came in which was case fresh and why it is the only piece in my collection that is in a case. It is also the only Popy version I own that I will never sell because it is so damn perfect I don't even want to touch it. Serious collector status buying 6 of these looking for the perfect piece with the plan to sell off the others once you find the perfect specimen but keeping all of them anyway

It's sheisty and even more so stupid. It's not simply sh*tty, it's freaking stupid. As others pointed out, if you don't use the trademarked name and logo, then it becomes a copyright question on points of similarity. That sucker is different enough that it would make a copyright challenge expensive and mostly pointless. If the called it "Super Deluxe LionGo Robot Vtran!". There really isn't much WEP can do to stop that beyond some puchback at cons. But when they put the official registered trademarks on it, It can be seized at the border or from the shelves on WEP's order. No court necessary. There is no defense. If they find it they destroy it. By putting the Voltron name and markings on it they limit their sales channels stupidly.

Credits to the owner Not bad, that is tall. but I do wish they made the head bigger and removed the lion legs and kept the look clean. Supposedly the release date is July end? Gold

Gold Where did you get July from? I have this on pre order so I'm very excited that it looks like it's still coming out. New photos look great. It's been mentioned on some of the Philippine Facebook groups that are selling preorders on this, either late July or early Aug supposedly? which one is the figure here lol looks good but the paint looks a bit off for me Yeah, it's the chest panel for me, the lack of white on the chest to offset the red is throwing it off. If the July release date holds true, then this is likely the finished product we're looking at and not a factory proto. Gold

which one is the figure here lol looks good but the paint looks a bit off for me It has that look of metalic acrylics that never quite look right. Here's hoping those are just pre production samples and they use actual lacquers on the final product. I'm not real crazy on this one. I like some of the styling, but the funky forced perspective proportions turn me off. The big honking feet and tiny head. Plus for something this expensive actual transformation would be my preference. But whatever floats your boat. I'm sure somebody will love it.
