Tamashii changed the release date to August it seems....good!
That makes more sense. I guess it was a type-o. A beautiful figure nontheless, One of my eagerly awaited release.

It aint no Voltron. Goes to show how important the USA market is. That article about scalpers in the Metal build Eva thread, I didn’t read the entire article clearly but one of the points that isn’t stress enough is how important the USA market is. Asia scalper aren’t buying if they don’t find US buyers.

These aren't Voltron and they also aren't traditional Soul of Chogokin figures. I don't know why you guys would expect these to even be "hype" let alone flying off the shelves when they're in a line that's had large, full-on combining versions already released.
I'm not saying they aren't nice because honestly they look fantastic but they're those types of products that are niche within a niche within a niche.

How often do SOCs sell out? I have been buying these for years and almost every SOC was in stock for months if not years after release. When they finally sell out the prices can go nuts on certain releases. BBTS still has the GX-23 re-release in stock. I know Daimos GX-43 was around for a while as I recall, I remember buying it for retail in like 2011 or 2012. I have had little to no trouble back-collecting most of the line. The only ones I’ve seen really go crazy are Voltes and Voltron I might be forgetting one or two but this lack availability seems like the exception not the rule to me.

allow me to explain
if you remember the GX-81 sold out very fast, which is a strong sign that the character is popular, so seeing this kind of demand for the GX-84 is a bit odd
maybe Zambot Ace is more popular than Zambot 3 ?
also if we compare it to the other FA figures you will find it more surprising, both Daimos and Voltes sold out in minutes, Daitarn 3 was there for a bit but then it was gone as well
lately most of the SOCs are been sold out by the time i finish placing my order, for example GX-85 & GX-40R, not to mention the Metal Build figures
i understand they become available later but with a different price tag
and those full-on combining version you mentioned are extremely expensive at the moment, you could buy all of the FA line for the price of one combiner lol

Most soc don't get sold out (in fact two of the FA were at sale in HLJ). Eknight has most of the latest releases at retail price for example. But some are special, like the voltron reissue and sold out in minutes everywhere.

I don't know why this wasn't added to the multi quote but i appreciate this insight as well. - I don't lump in Metal Builds with the SOCs and don't think they should be. - Items like Gypsy Danger and Megazord didn't do so hot and found themselves being discounted at retailers. - I understand the price portion for sure but for me I guess the full-on combining pieces are synonymous with what SOCs are so it's something I associate with the line. - That's pretty interesting that you bring up Zambo Ace vs. Zambot 3... I think between Zambot 3, multiple releases of Ace, and now this FA 3 it may be a bit confusing for people.

its fine, i forgot to check on this thread as well
maybe i wasn't specific enough, what im talking about is within the preorder time line in these days, of course some stores will have some left overs and of course some stores will offer a discount later on
i mentioned the MB line because i just know its as popular as the SOC specially with the recent release
im not sure about Gypsy Danger, but the Megazord is a huge hit, they did a reissue and a repaint version, that show how strong the demand for it, not to mention it won our TOTY back then
the full combining figures are the full experiences and they are what the SOC do best in most cases, but if you didn't get them in a specific time line you will miss them, its not easy to back track in this hobby, and here is why the FA line is a great idea, those FAs gives us another version of the experience with a much lower price,
for me honestly it worked i dont feel that i MUST get the GX-43 anytime soon like i used to think, its still on the list yes but i just cant see my self paying +$400 for an 11 years old toy

I don't want to talk about stuff like the megazord bc the black version is being clearanced out ar this very moment. Personally I couldn't place the F.A. stuff on my shelves as placeholders for the originals but everyone is different; there's just no comparison for me as a collector of things at a certain size and with certain features. I'm actually ecstatic that this sub line is starting off well because I'd love a Voltron and Dancouga represented in it.
