At least one user broke his GL's right arm at the shoulder...id ready Epoxy just in case. Be carful. www.gokin.it/forum/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=12270&start=255Also bros are saying in order to get more out of the ankle joints, ...pull them out then DON'T insert them back all the way.... that will give the full potential of the joints apparently.

how much metal does it have ? where is advisable to get this from? Don't have specifics, but from the couple video reviews I watched, they all said its heavy, heavier than a Metal Build. Since this come from China company, some US shops (BBTS, RightStuf...etc.) asking for over $300, which might actually be the legit foreign price, as they are more or less the same. But if you can get it from HK or Japan shops, they usually ask for $230+. HobbySearch sold out their first batch of preorder, but I've seen them have a 2nd batch for a later ship date with that $230-ish price as well. If you can't find it elsewhere and don't mind a few months wait instead of getting it right away, this might be good. Here. www.1999.co.jp/eng/10713322

Sharing this review from an actual customer and not a production sample. I ordered one after seeing the production sample reviews. And after seeing the actual customer experience reviews, I’m less excited for this. The product sample reviewer, more or less probably is selling the figure so he was less critical of the product. When I look at these videos, I honesty don’t care for the good points because I’ll know that when I get the product in hand. I like videos like this because the reviewer is more critical of the product and points out the negatives. As a oversea buyer, I don’t get the benefit of handling and seeing the product before purchasing. So it help when negatives are pointed out.
Yes this is another HK reviewer and the review is in Cantonese. He spends a lot of time talking about the box. And he keeps mentioning that although this is a Chinese small factory product, it feels more like a Japanese product.
Anyway, in the unboxing, he first mentioned how he felt that the item isn’t fasten tightly, loose in box and he was jokingly saying is this an open box item.
First thing he said when handling the toy, feels very cold. So lots of diecast Metal. Has heft. He then feels around to try and figure out what’s metal.
On to the negative points. First thing, the big drill, hollow and flexible plastic. The bottom of the drill is more solid. I think this is acceptable because if the big drill was too heavy, the arm would not be able to support the weight. Anyway, the other negative, the paint job. Although nice to look at, the paint is rough on the metal parts. He said something with the base coat or primer not being applied right, so on the metal parts, the paints is more grainy looking and not as smooth as on the paint in the plastic part. He also mentioned that the candy apple red metallic base coat and the transparent clear coat and I forgot why he didn’t like it. Said something in the effects of it looks good from afar but up close, the specs or sparkling spots are too big? Not sure what he was talking about there.
Then there’s the one leg being looser than the other. So he also mentions that he may not even bother using the sun glasses because the plastic feels cheap. He compares it to plastics used in those super deformed bb Gundam kits. He likes the open and closed mouth feature on the abdomen but mentioned that when the mouth is open, you get less range of motion. Also the torso can bend back more and bend forward not much. The side skirts, one side can tuck in more than the other but they tend to flare out. He likes the elbow and knees bends. The part above the wrist sit really loose.
The major problem and the weakest part he thinks are the inner shoulder joints. They are ratcheted in six spots he counted. But the locking point for each ratchet is too far apart. There’s play and you can leave the arms in between ratchets but he doesn’t recommend doing so. The second thing he didn’t like are the ankle joints. He said that the feet range isn’t good. And the figure has problems standing flat footed in wide A stance. To do so, you kind of have to pull the foot off and then not insert the peg back in fully. He said that doing this long term may damage the figure and that the constant removal of the foot may loosen the peg connection. Overall he thinks the articulations is so-so. Not the worst and definitely not bad.
The reviewer overall is positive as there’s a lot of ohs and awes. He said the beat part of this figure is that it has shelf presence and it’s definitely eye candy. He places it amount his favorites. The fit and finished could be better.

He said the beat part of this figure is that it has shelf presence and it’s definitely eye candy. He places it amount his favorites. The fit and finished could be better. This reviewer is a pretty good model builder and know his paint well. His channel is model kit focused. He recently painted a Infinity Getter Dragon in metallic better looking than a SOC. So when he was talking about paint finish, gotta give him some credit. I watch his stuff from time to time. To clarify his main complaints: 1. Paint - he explained to achieve the metallic red, they used a silver undercoat, and translucent candy red on top. But CCSToys picked a silver that is too grainy with very large specks visible. Should have picked a metallic silver that has a finer grain. But paint finish on plastic parts still nice and smooth, regardless of the grainy silver. However, the paint on the diecast parts dropped the ball, obviously a lot rougher and lower quality (showed in this video). 2. Shoulder vertical joint - only 6 clicks for the full 360 vertical arm swing, which sucks obviously. While there is give in-between each click for specific pose, you don't want to leave it there long term adding a lot of pressure on that joint and crack the parts. So this design really limited how the arms are posed for long term display. Not to mention a bit of an odd choice with ratchet gearing so far apart, like the slicing of a pizza. 3. Ankle pivot - the articulation on ankle pivot is quite limited. The feet is connected with a straight cylindrical peg, so you can kind of cheat it and pull the feet lower to make the feet pivot more. But there is no clicks or groove on the peg to stop the feet from coming off the legs completely, and no mention in the manual that that is a feature. So unless you cheat with pulling the feet out, you can't even achieve a proper A Stance. He found that the figure as a whole has a lot of articulation joints on paper, but the practical range of movement is only average with limited movements here and there. 4. Joints looseness inconsistency - often joints are tighter/looser on one side but not the other. But regardless of the flaws, he is very impressed and enjoyed the figure a lot, brought him more surprises and excitement even more than Metal Structure RX-93 (since he build a lot of Gundams). Even he realized he caught himself making a lot of "Ooh's" and "Ahhh's" while filming as genuine excitement.

thanks for clearing things up
from the photos, videos and reviews, i still think this figure is good, but still i cant wait to get it in my hands to give a legit opinion about it
all those points about the joints made me wonder, will they fix it in the 2nd patch ?
now when are they going to release

Mainly is there due to the overwhelming orders CCSToys got that they didn't expected. This is indeed still a very good figure. CCSToys is just too new of a company to nail everything in the first go, so some QC or minor design issue is expected. The guy rated it on par with with Metal Structure RX-93 and GFFMC Zaku II (though lose out to both in fit and finish), that speaks for something (for him).

Very promising.
These smaller companies are easier to maneuver i think. Surely CCS will get all the kinks out on their next release.
Comparing this piece to GCCF Zaku is a HUGE compliment...took Bandai ton of time and money to get it to where it is.

2 to 3 months are enough for them trust me lol
to be honest they release something ever one want, there is a very few Gurren Lagann figures in market and even fewer figures thats worth getting, so i understand the crushing demand
are you sure he mentioned the Metal Structure RX-93 ? i dont have and im not a huge Gundam guy, but that figure is a masterpiece so just mentioning this figure in the same sentence is a huge deal

next is Shin ZERO
regarding Bandai, it will take them couple of bad releases to destroy all that lol

I'd consider the metal structure as more of a statue with some articulation rather than an actual action figure. For me, the bar is rather low if we're talking about the metal structure. Now as for the comparison with the GFFMC Zaku figure, I think that's more appropriate.

the Zaku on the other hand is a bit on an odd choice, the paint is matte while it have some good articulation, so maybe he was comparing the articulation to the Zaku and the paint to the MS Gundam ?

The reviewer was not necessary comparing them because of similarities or engineering prowess. Its more like those were some of his more memorable higher end purchases (remember, he is mostly a plastic model kit builder), and this Gurren Lagann would be among them (though lose in fit & finish to both Metal Structure RX-93 and GFFMC Zaku), in terms of awe and excitement he had when playing with it. In other words, he really like this GL, regardless all the flaws he mentioned.
