Finally got my copy. The paint is exactly the same minus the face but the build is superb. Does not look KO at all. If a noob saw two of these items, the noob will choose the KO. Only glaring flaw are the pegs are too obvious on the fist but the rest, this is what Sentinel should have done. Pics will be posted soon Nice. I have to admit mine is a bit defective and has dampened my enthusiasm for this toy. Hopefully showzstore is able to give me a replacement. Otherwise, great toy. From handling really cant tell its a ko. Also for those who has the original are the treads on the back of Liger and Cougar's legs supposed to move around?

My defect is the cover of Eagle Fighter (head) is loose. Is yours loose as well?

I got mine in today as well. I missed the original release so I'm very happy to have a chance to finally own one at a great price point. I picked up a Blackwing and can confirm that it fits nice and tight on mine. I'm looking forward to comparisons between it and the original! Mine is loose as well if I am thinking of the same thing. Is it the swinging cover at the back of the head?

If you want a superb quality Dancouga that you can play around without fear of breaking, the KO is the best option. You can buy the authentic one for collection purposes but its too expensive.

Any tips to securing the jet pack? Cant seem to lock the lower tabs in place at the waist with the central cannon attached.

Only having the legit atm it should be fine as long as the canon is sunken into the back sll the way. I don't remember if the canons down there need to be rotated out or not off the top of my head so if you haven't tried that give it a go.

I had to push the cannon all the way in before I was able to clip the jet pack. Even then, one of the lower tabs on mine doesn't lock. It's still on there pretty tight though.

Thanks guys. Turns out I was attaching it wrong. Was attaching the ones by his shoulders first which seems to prevent it from folding down his back flush. Attaching the waist ones first then the shoulder ones did the trick.

Good to hear! I hope they come out with color variants in the future. I'm tempted to get a second but I might hold out hoping for a real color version.

This thing is great! I feel like I can finally appreciate the work sentinel put into the design. When I had the original the high price and delicate feeling parts made me not want to handle it much. This one is a joy to pose and transform. I feel like the folks who did this KO really loved the original and wanted to do it justice. Granted sentinel gets none of the profits, but they do get my respect.

Just unboxed and put together the Beast Combination Dancouga. It's in the middle sandwiched between two originals. - Paint's different and a blatant tell from the originals: I don't think it's a "bad" thing, either. It's no different than Sentinel doing a re release with different paint tells. Notably things like the face being chromed vs silver and the little chest guns as well. - The added diecast parts in the shoulders and arms are neat but in the 12 originals I currently have I have yet to break anything so it's hard for me to see it as an improvement but regardless it's cool, solid, and preventative. - The extra accessories like the swords and wings are nice. - The changes in the hands and wrists are unnecessary and pretty unsightly. The wrist pegs were changed to be a bit longer and thinner and the hands don't have the female balljoint connectors not cut deep enough so you're left with these long, thin wrists exposed. Overall one thing in general that I'd see as an actual problem and outside of that it's a really well-done capture of the mold with some neat add-ons.

Do you have close ups of the hands for comparison?

I’m happy at the quality of this Dancouga. Surprisingly hefty with super tight joints. The wrist pegs are a little long but when you angle the fist in poses, you can’t see them. I suspect they may have done it to provide a greater range of motion around the super wide forearms.
By the time I had considered getting the original Sentinel release, it was over $500 and then the news of breakages started. I wonder what affect the bootlegging of their IP designs will have on that company. If fans know they can wait a bit and get an item at half price with improvements and fixes, their original sales could suffer. They can’t be happy about it. If this BeastCombo sells really well and more Sentinel pricey releases like say Getter Devolution get the same treatment, it could pose serious problems for them.

Sentinel starting to get KO'd a lot for sure. The Metamor Force Ryuoumaru got KO'd with the metal jacket add-on included. Riobot Iron Giant got a OS KO incoming. It's just the beginning. Don't think Sentinel has the budget to fight this like Bandai.

Hopefully the KO will fix the hopelessly sh*t ankles of the original.
