While being very close to the SRC version, I see this Shin Getter as the baseline of all Shin Getters. This is accurate and if the accessories are right, then this should be enough for people taking interest in Getter. Maybe even future fans that don't want to track down the Riobot or Future Gokin which I consider, the upper end versions.

While I said this SOC doesn't offer much surprises and lack some details, I have to say it is one of the most accurate anime depiction in the market, gorilla arms and all. I am particularly impressed by the head and the expression of the eyes. Very accurate, and looks right, without making it looking too angry, too evil or too stylized. It is a big improvement over the old Aoshima. Just the matter for some of us that already have a few Shin Getter 1, do we need another one that is more screen accurate, but inferior in some other ways (details and articulation and such...). The SRC Shin Getter 1 face looks rather 'cute' in comparison. Borrowing Gold's pic, Aoshima Shin 1 still look quite good. Just that the head sculpt and articulation is quite outdated. Heavy as hell though. Meanwhile, the SOC looks really good and accurate. If I have to nitpick, it would be the white lower torso being a little too slim and short, and the green might be in fact too green. Since they already went so far to being screen accurate, might as well go 100%.

...and the green might be in fact too green. ... Yeah, I agree with this. Otherwise, I dig it.

Not yet. I'm curious about an ETA as well. I'm finding this thing mighty tempting, despite not holding the design in high regard before now.

I think this is the Shin Getter I will go with. I like the CCS one but this one nailed it in my opinion.

May be because we are used to the restyling ccs, Sentinel and other companies have done. But I think this version shines for its simplicity. I feel this will be those figures you found great and fun once in hand.

Looking at the SOC Shin Getter, it somehow feels like a step backwards for me. It seems to lack the detailed sculpt work in the green areas of the chest and legs that we got with the SRC and Aoshima. I just hope the figure has a good amount of diecast to make up for it.
