Are we expecting a pretty good articulation for this version of Voltron? I have an action toys Ultimetal S Rodimus Prime and its articulation and joints sucks. He looks damn good and hefty though. Not sure avout their other releases.

I'm really looking forward to this, even though it might be on the short side.
I have NEVER EVER liked the Bandai SOC Golion GX-71 since day 1. Yeah, some of you can gasp all you want. lol I've always gotten heat for going against the grain with GX-71, but my GX-71 was put back into the box within an hour of unboxing it and never taken out ever again since January 2017. And I know it's blasphemous in most groups to ever speak ill of GX-71, but I don't care. I never liked it and always felt it looked like a stubby little child. I even got some grief from others all over social media for preferring the Blitzway 5-Pro over the SOC. I'm not a Bandai hater in any way, in fact I will always support them. But the whole unconditional love with no faults for GX-71 was never in my book. I would love for Bandai to take another stab at another SOC Golion now that they have seen what other companies are bringing to the table. But it wouldn't surprise me if we just get another lazy GX-71R recoloring from them and they call it a day.
I'm really glad that Action Toys is stepping up to the plate. Am I happy with a possibly small DX version? No. But aesthetics wise, this looks really great and we know their quality is 5-stars. I'm super excited to see how this Action Toys release turns out. Heck, POSE+, are you guys on the sidelines? Would love to see them do a Metal Series Golion figure as well!

I like the proportions and the size could make for a good desk figure to play around with.
Also, it’s crazy to me that there’s so many Voltron figures coming out now when just a few years ago, our only option was Toynami. And then the SoC came out and I thought that’s as good as it’s gonna get but now here we are.

The Mattel era as well. Seems like all the big boys are getting their opportunities to produce their premium DX Golion sets. It's so good to have some great choices and begone with the dumb 1 company for the Voltron license monopoly thing. I hope Action Toys does a jumbo Golion similar to the same quality that we got with their jumbo Tetsujin-28 Go.

joking aside its totally fine bro we like different things even if the figure is dead popular you have the right to say i dont like it for 1 2 3
for me the GX-71 is among the best SOC ever made true i wished they did a modern take instead of taking the road that every one else did (pay tribute to the vintage Golion)
also i wish if it was anime accurate paint but hey knowing Bandai i know they will do an R version or a new model to milk the heck out of our wallets
and to be honest with you i like smaller figures they are fun to play with fun to handle and fun to photograph, also not so much space needed to store them
my only issue with the upcoming DX from Action Toys is
1-faces need to be redesigned (the lions and Voltron)
2-anime accurate colors, is it to much to ask for ?
3-i really want those covers they showed on the earlier prototype + the used something similar on the ES Gokin version
if they did that they would have the best Voltron ever made
for Pose + the designer said he wont do one since there is way to many also as you know he is also the designer for Action Toys so the DX and the Mini Action are all his work

I've always had a lot of respect for you bro because in the few instances where we have different viewpoints, we still are able to have great conversations about our topics! I imagine engineering at Bandai are planning a DX Golion for us some day and they have their ducks lined up to directly compete with the Blitzway 5Pro. I imagine them dissecting the 5pro release during a team meeting, and discussing future plans on how they will produce a superior DX version. Being that every DX SOC has been a home run and I thoroughly enjoyed DX Voltes V, I anticipate Bandai in raising the bar for premium Golion toys once they produce their DX Golion. Yes, the covers for the Action Toys DX is desired for me as well. And I do agree about the faces of the lions need to be tweaked some. Not sure how I feel about the beveled look of their lion eyes. It's going to be a very expensive 2024 for many of us that's for sure. So many great upcoming releases to choose from, and from so many different brands. I'm going to tip my hat to whoever is responsible at WEP for allowing so many Voltron licenses to be held by various gokin toy companies. Whoever that person is (or persons are), needs to be thanked by the collecting community. Because I doubt its the same person who only wanted a single license monopoly with one company like Toynami for decades. They know Action Toys are heavy hitters in the gokin arena. And I'm glad and thankful we are getting this DX Voltron from them, among others like the 5Pro and ThreeZero too.

of course bro and trust me the respect is mutual
in my opinion i find different tastes helpful maybe it will open my eyes for something i didnt plan on getting at all, like years back when our good friend greengetterguy recommended SOC GX-48K Big O for me a figure that i actually love right now
the issue with Bandai right now is they are not Bandai we used to know they are falling behind, quality is not so good, QC are becoming normal and some really odd design choices on top of that the figures they releases are irrelevant
i love Bandai but as said before my loyalty is for the product not the company
what they need to improve is to return to the classic recipe and put some new things into it, for example pay more attention to the articulation, dont sell half baked figures, and do an actual test on the figures before you release them

I wonder what the decision was behind choosing to go small with this release. I'm sorry, but 8.5" inches tall is a bit unflattering.

i agree with you its actually shorter than the Toynami Voltron
BUT
its an interesting height, it will fit perfectly with the non combiners SOC and its a new height for voltron if im not mistaken
for me i like it and i hope i can pre order one

So this is a non combiner? Also how good is action toys? I also saw a Dx god mars So far action toy are good, they did a Voltes V and Combattler V combiner and a transforming Daimos Robot. All plastic but kinda good but small. Like Super Robot Chogokin scale or smaller.

As i get older and my far sightedness gets greater, these mini action figures get quite blurry for me... so.. the larger the better...lol.

all of you guys are mistaken
So this is a non combiner? Also how good is action toys? I also saw a Dx god mars its a combiner, Action Toys is an S tier company (S tier is higher than A tier in my book)
So far action toy are good, they did a Voltes V and Combattler V combiner and a transforming Daimos Robot. All plastic but kinda good but small. Like Super Robot Chogokin scale or smaller.
those were from the Mini Action line, and they are a perfect fit with the SRC figures
but they also have the Mini Gokin line, the Heavy Metal line, and they did some figures for Fewture in the EM and ES Gokin line
As i get older and my far sightedness gets greater, these mini action figures get quite blurry for me... so.. the larger the better...lol.
this from a new line called the DX its 22cm and its not all plastic or small, as you can see it have a good details on it
