well, my friend just came back from Japan and bought me back a Zambot 3!! Wow, talk about a surprise!!.
I was never really a big Zambot Fan...but this new (BIG) Momma may just sway me away!
My best and still king fav: Grendizer
I have to say though, all SOCs in my book are far better than any other lines out there...but to choose the "least liked"......it will have to be a tie between the 'Zinger girls and Daiku Maryu..Nice dragon...but what a tease with the little guy!!!
Bandai, u getting the drift???!!!

Wow, am I the only person who was REALLY unhappy when they opened their Aoshima Shin Getter box? I only own the Black Devil Wing version, and basicly I think it looks great, but it is VERY poorly designed. Posability sucks. The Wing attachment sucks. Sure, it's heavy...but weight doesn't make it a good robot. =) From what I've read I am in the minority here...strange. But yes, I'd LOVE SoC version of Shin Getter. Bandai does everything right in my book! They could only improve on that crappy design. Bill

Well i dont want to really bleed into this conversation string and talk too much about my plans with ole Blister Variation Maz.. I'll give more details in the "SOC with Hives!" string your Inquring Mind is duely noted and your thirst for knowlege will eventually be richly rewarded.. i hope

Why Combattler...I just think that it is way too clunky. It didn't move all that well so it's wasn't as nicely poseable as the Mazinger/Great Mazinger types. It's the only Chogokin that I opened and still don't have on display. It just didn't do anything for me.
Now Grendizer on the other hand... I liked that so much that I sprung for GX-04X (the attachments)...it's still my favorite.

Combattler is actually poseable, in a kinda stiff way..but it look imposing, which is never wrong for a Super Robot

All gattai type robots give up the ability to pose in favor of having the ability to combine. By far Dancouga has the most posable design, but because he's so top heavy he can't maintain his balance. Combattler was one of the few SOC I didn't want in the begining, but once I got him I found out he's more fun than Dancouga.

That's funny. I could swear the Shin Getter from Miracle House has THE BEST poseability/articulation among all of the new chogokins out there. I can pose my MH Shin Getter all day, where as my SOC's (with the exception of the 07, EVA's and Mazinger fembots), suck when it comes to articulation. If I try to pose Great Maz, or Grendy, anywhere near what Shin Getter can do, it's either they fall over, or a I break off a limb. If you want to talk poor articulation, the SOC's are it. Nothing comes close (as far as heavy gokins go) to the Miracle House Shin Getter, articulation wise. Wow, am I the only person who was REALLY unhappy when they opened their Aoshima Shin Getter box? I only own the Black Devil Wing version, and basicly I think it looks great, but it is VERY poorly designed. Posability sucks. The Wing attachment sucks. Very tough question. Even with a gun to my head, I couldn't pick a "crappy" SOC. They're all beautiful.

If you have a chance, get the Devil Wing as well. It's a great complement to your regular Shin Getter One, plus it looks darned imposing with the wings on. As for the Neo Getter One, it's also a nice piece to own, but doesn't really hold a candle to Shin Getter One. For one, the "toes" on the NGO are ponting upwards. This causes the toy to be unstable, in both standing pose, and dynamic pose. The legs share the same range of articulation as the SGO, but the feet are just poor. Overall, the Miracle House Getters are the best heavy gokins out there, if you are looking for poseability, and diecast content. The only beef I have with MH Gokins are the lack of gimmicks.

I cant say crappiest, cuz I love the mountain base etc..but the most annoying has to be Reideen.fall off parts nonstop, some have leg and posing issues, its too damn small etc etc. The most underated SOC product is the Combattler Nanbara Base, absolutely love it,looks 70s anime, screams COLOR! shelf presence, houses GX-50 perfectly, just love it.

I can't honestly say which SOC is the worst, because I did not purchase every SOC that has been released. But of the ones I do have, I agree with Baron - the GX-41S (figure only) deserves the title. }D
