But bro, those are not part of the Soul of Chogokin line. They are just chogokin. IMO, the ones that should've not been included in the SOC line are the Spaceships, King Joe(s), and most definitely General Franky. }D But General Franky is sooooooo full of SOUL! Haha.

Lol, wow, this thread came back! Well, I have to agree with you guys, Drunk Jeeg is one of the terrible ones for the SOC line. My other "worst" contenders would be -Zambot 3- the lack of poseability for the hips continue to annoy me. -Xabungle - the halves of the upper torso on mine came apart, had to super glue them together -Reideen - needs more metal.. and bigger size. in a way its a gripe thread....so that Bandai would revive the Super Soul of Chogokin lineup.....its one way Bandai would fix those lousy SoC they made in the past and "hope" they reincarnate them in the not so distant future.....

im guessing Bandai is targeting the "newer" generation for General Franky.... I could be wrong, but I am actually thinking of the opposite. Just the packaging of General Franky is a homage to the old school Popy box, which speaks so much to older folks that more fond of the old toys. The toy aesthetic also screams old school, while newer generations non-One Piece fans would think GF being too goofy or not cool enough for their taste (as it seems evident on this board). I am 38 now, so I believe I am not quite the newer generation (as much as I wish I could ), that's for sure.

Which makes me wonder, how many chogokin lines does Bandai have? But, that's a question I can answer by googling Bandai and reading their wiki pages.

(which imho really dont see any resemblance of being an oldies.....but thats just me) but what i am trying to say is....when did General Franky or One Piece ever started??? as far as wiki is concerned they were first released on Dec 24 1997....during those days i was already in the Univ and dont have the luxury of time watching the series...majority of the fans would most probably be either from high school or primary students which eventually grew up to this day.....which i was actually referring to....i would not claim as the newer generation as well as im also 38 .... but if you find that General Franky suits your old school taste then by all means you have all the freedom & liberty to own it....

I wouldn't go by date for what will be a SOC, Evangelion came out in 1995, Gaogaigar came out in 1997 while Shin Jeeg came out in 2007. It's more or less if they think if there's enough demand they will make it.

Pretty much, I'm pretty sure Bandai Japan doesn't see or even know about this forum. Your best bet would be Facebook and then let the guys at Bluefin know what you want, they MIGHT let Bandai Japan know there's a demand for a certain item.

Bandai Japan doesn't go with what the Westerners want. They only listen to the Japanese fans. Folks may say otherwise, but the proof is in the puddin'. For example, SRCs GaoFighGar, Tetsujin 28 FX, Giant Robo, Big-O, and the rest of the prototypes we've seen - and what do we get???... we get a regular release (not TWE) SRC Kantam robot. }|

I've always though of the SoC line as Bandai's top toy line. Meaning, whatever is getting the SoC treatment, it is Bandai's best attempt. So having unpopular figures like King Joe or General Frankly doesn't bother me because I don't see the SoC line as a Super Robot only club line. Bandai wanted to make the best General Frankly with it best engineering team, artist sculpt and premium production team. Thus they didn't place it in its regular Chogokin line.
The way I see it, Bandai Japan doesn't care about what Foreigner want is because of this. Bandai Japan never intended to sell these SOC over seas anyway. But what sold well over sea doesn't necessary means will sell well in Japan. The thing to remember is that majority of the stock of the production is distributed to Japanese retail store and not outsourced over seas. And it is highly likely that what we outsider like is probably plentiful in Japan. We base a lot of stuff in term of ease of access to us and it is not 100% correct. Just cause international sites like amiami or hlj so something quickly doesn't necessary mean anything. It isn't like they can or is willing to recall what doesn't sell well in Japan and just cause foreigners want it, they will redistribute them.

It's getting better Bandai knows for instance that Italy is a big market for SR with much easier licensing rights then in North America with a very vocal fan base.

....i would not claim as the newer generation as well as im also 38 .... HIGH FIVE! ...and still going strong on collecting. I just hope less and less crappy SOCs as we get older and older, since our taste may get more critical as we aged. I am sure I did, kind of get spoiled by the good ones in a way.

Right about now, I'd like to add one really CRAPPY SOC to the list: The one you Didn't buy because you kept putting it off and now you regret not getting it sooner. zozo-mag
