Hi again guys, I was wondering if any bodey having the same problem with their SOC's!! I had it with my GX-19 first and now with my GX-04B!! (thanks to donkey'service on hunting it on yahoo japan ) on GX 19 after getting it out of the Box and desplaying it for a week .... I decided to touch his sharp silver thorns on his ankle!! and surprisingly the paint get smudged on it and came out as if it wasn't drayed yet!! nice two days ago I was setting up my GX04B and I was attaching the for arms to the very adorable grendizer with his crazy black look!! but what again the golden strips on his fore-arm came out on my fingers!! now I am really mad!! I start quastioning my self about the SOC line quality!! I'love them ! it is just they still have some flaws that I think bandai can avoide them easly!! for example The GX-23 zambot 3 .the only thing that is stoping me from buying it is the crapy look of his yellow parts (chest plate and forehead moon) and the stupid hip joint!! come on ... that thing can't achive some decent poses!! if dancouga can do it that means with a little bit of more engenearing zambot can do it!! what is stoping Gx-24 tetsujin 28 from being the perfect tetsujin is the stupid size!! god he is small!! mazinger have a good hip joint ,great mazinger have a good one too / why not grendizer !! it is the same !! that really annoy me ! dancouga was awsome exept for some flaws and the very stupid low diecast contenet!! that thing almost soul of plastic!! I think AOSHIMA 's mazinkaiser is havier!! give me a break! bandai can easly make the soul of chogokin line the UN BEATABLE TOY LINE ever made!! I say we should sine a petition to bandai before they drop the line down even more!! we don't want to lose our beloved soul of chogokins!!

That suck's! I had a similar problem with my GX-01B where they painted the ramp gold but did a sh*tty job and it looks like the paint could just peel off. My only guess is that when they painted them there was too much humidity and the paint didn't have a chance to dry right.

Yep, that's true, but what's also true (and I can't believe I'm doing this... ) is, and you said it yourself, Dancouga has lesser diecast, that means lesser weight, and easier balance management. Besides, Dan is basically a whole robot, and just wears shoes and a hat to look bad@$$.. (whew! that felt good! ) Gotta agree with that. I don't recall any of these three having any hip or waist joints.. or are you referring to the thigh/leg joints? In any case, yes, my favorite SR, Grendy has the worst thigh range of all the Nagai SOC's. Miracle House/Aoshima's Mazinkaiser contains (to my estimates) about 85 to 90% diecast. However, keep in mind that he doesn't suffer the same restrictions that a "combiner" like the Dancouga, or Combattler, or Zambot has to deal with.

yeah omni, I gusse you are right! BTW I was actually talking about the thigh/leg joint!! sorry for that. I gusse I was a bit ruff on them. but I really love our soul of chogokins and I want them to be even better!! about zambot ,the things that I asked for are really affordable!! about dancouga ... how about more diecast maybe for the arms or the torso! with a lock system ... they looks great ... but it is just that I am asking selfishly for more!! me and my big mouth!!

there is nothing wrong with your criticisms chogokinabdul. I actually agree for the most part. I love the SOC line but I think there is always room for useful improvements. Plus you delivered your criticisms in a very productive manner and I give you extra points for that.

Nah, you weren't too rough, and like Ronin, I agree with most of your points, although, I never really had any bad experiences with the SOC line, except for the Getter Poseidon, and the bad locking mechanism that I had to fix myself. I'm also contemplating on getting the Dancouga this December, provided I'm already over my money problems, and if nothing near, or equally expensive comes along (Like the Yamato 1/100 Koenig Monster).

I thought I was the only SOC collector with similar quality problems with their purchases. Indeed, most of the SOC's that I've bought have quality problems, especially with the paint. I've had to retouch with model paint or smooth the surface with Tamiya's Rubbing/Polishing Compound. (I suggest that you use only a little bit on a small surface of whatever SOC.) BTW, the latest SOC Mazinger Angels have paint problems, as well. I don't want to retouch them much because of the delicate way they are painted (or not painted). Speaking of Mazinger Angels, the clip to the waist that holds Dianan A (GX-11A) is much smaller than the original GX-11's waist clip. I scratched the gray metallic paint around the waist when attaching this clip, so I suggest that you be careful with it. I'm not worrying too much because this problem can easily be remedied by using a little model paint that matches the gray metallic paint. I've had similar problems with the GX-11, but it was harder to correct because of the difficulty matching the gold metallic paint around the waist. Recently, I've also bought a Com-battler (GX-03) and I've had problems with it. I've decided to purchase a second-hand GX-03 to use as spare parts. BTW, do you know of the extra Com-battler sword that was given away or sold separately? I think it was made of metal or something. Anyway, I hate the GX-03 plastic sword because the chrome plated paintjob easily gets scratched or wears away.

AFAIK, the diecast Twin Lancers were for the GX-03 Combattler V Hong Kong Limited Edition.

me looove SOCs. but me hate SOC PROBLEMS!
Bandai def need to pull up their socks with the SOC line...IMO, these are designed to be collectible objects of art, targeting towards the adult collector (or very rich parents who like to introduce the lucky children to some chogokin-culture! ;D)
Anyway, these days, I get nervous when forking out $$$ for a SOC, I own 13 to date, and all are perfect with the exception of my most expensive collections: Combattler, Grendizer and Zambot! Now thats Ironic when they are my most prized possessions!
Zambot and Combattler shared a run of bent / warped fins /plastic bits. Zam's knee holes also allowed paint chipping to occur. And Grendizer had the styro almost melted on to the Saucer's red paintwork!! (btw, they were all minty fresh and boxes sealed) They were all fixable in the end, but can't help feeling slightly ripped off everytime i looka t them :-(
Dont get me wrong, at the end of the day they are still amazing...I have them and i love them. The faults can easily be "hidden"...but it still hurts on the inside.
Only wish the QC can be improved before they leave the assembly floor! Bandai, u listening!!??
