I just saw two auctions for this version, a black one and a regular colour one for $99.99 each. Does anybody know if there is anything different besides the wings, maybe a different paint job or something.

I was reading a topic about this on toysdaily (reading being a relative term, since babelfish translations are translations only in name), and apparently the only change are the wings. Each color is limited to 1,500 pieces worldwide as well.

Well, the color paint is different, a little bit.
I have the devil wing ver. and the regular ver. shin getter so I wont get suck up by these two.

I've seen some better pics of these and I'm really tempted to get one. There's nothing like the heft of a Aoshima figure.

Do you have any links to better pics? I've been thinking about getting a Devil Wing Getter, but I haven't seen any pics outside of the ones on ebay of the new "Closed Wing" versions to decide which set of wings I prefer.
HLJ has the new "Closed Wing" Getters to order by the way.

Yeah, that's one of the only pics I can find. Thanks though.
I guess I can wait for the regular Japanese toy review sites to get them in.

Ooh, thanks for the links Chen; I missed those since I had searched for "Shin Getter." Looking at those pics, I've decided to pass on them. They look alright, but something about Aoshima's offerings never clicked with me. I can wait for the day when a company like Max Factory releases the Shin Getter trio. Maybe even Bandai with the SOC line would be cool, although I hope they'd avoid doing them in vivid colors like the other Getters (which was fitting for them) and give them the dark, aggressive styling I prefer the Shin Getters in.

Frankly, Shin getter is a great robot, but i feel that Aoshima has too many version of Shingetter, black, red, with extra hands, open wings, closed wings etc...... but it is still Shingetter!!
but ultimately, its a great robot. but too many versions.

I agree that Aoshima has contracted the Takara disease of too many re-colours, but I can't resist a figure of almost pure diecast that weighs almost a kilogram. Still I'll probably pass on these and get the Max Gokin Mazinkaiser since that is an entirely new figure.

I'll probably regret not picking up the Devil Wing Shin Getter while I still have the chance to at a decent price (it's the only Shin Seiki Gokin that intrigues me), but while it looks nice, I'll wait for something with more features down the pipeline. On the other hand, I personally can't wait for the Max Factory Mazinkaiser. It's from seeing pics of it that really got me into the gokin-collecting hobby. It's too bad that I have the Diamond import pre-ordered and not the Japanese release though, since I won't be getting mine until October.

I pre-ordered mine from CircleRed.com, and they said they should be getting them sometime in October. It's a bit of a wait from the Japanese release, which is this month, but I saved roughly $50 this way.

It came out to about $110 with shipping. Speaking about Max Factory, I hope they'll release some updated news on future entries in the Max Gokin line. They said a while back the next two in the line would be the Garland bike from Megazone 23 (would be great if it transformed, which I think it has a good chance of) and then the TV GaoGaiGar. Then, if I had my way, they'd do a Shin Getter 1.

Cool pics sgetter. I like the wings on the Devil Wing more than these "closed" ones, but I do think the regular Shin Getter looks better with these (I found the original's wings to be too small). It's strange that they made subtle changes to the color scheme on both though, since I think they're both a step back from the originals. These are a no-go for me.

Nice Shin Getters. The wings look better on these Getters, but I would rather see a devil wing version on a regular colored Shin Getter.
