Seeing above posts including this here too.. I noticed something SUPER wierd tonite,I display my little DX pileders{Jet versions} on the base for DX Mazinger that came with the Scrander wings.Underneath BOTH of the little pileders was a tiny wet spot! WTF? I wiped it off and now place the pileders on the glass surface instead, this is wierd!I no longer tape the edges shut of my Detolfs as my new place has little dust, and after 2 weeks none accumulated in the cabinets,so its not like the toys are sweating in there. What could this be? The pileders havent changed any, just small sweat spots?None were under Mazingers feet or any other part of teh toys, just where the pileders touched the base.hmmm?

This has most likely been said before, but wow the GX-31 is so much smaller than the original Popy/Godaikin Voltes V. I took pictures of them and each vehicle side by side and the vintage Voltes is so huge in comparison. Though of course the GX-31 is way more detailed and articulate, minus the cool missile launchers of the vintage Voltes. Its really funny holding the Volt-Panzer in hand. The vintage Panzer is near 3 times the size of the SOC Panzer alone. The only parts that even come close to each in size are the Volt-Landers. Of course the vintage Landers are bigger but just a hair over twice the size of the SOC Landers. At least most of the parts are to each Voltes are in proportion, with exception to the Volt-Crewzer. The SOC Crewzer I think is way to small, its still cool and transforms super smooth but way small compared to the rest of the parts of the SOC Voltes. It gives the SOC a bit of a tiny head. On the vintage the Crewzer is just right and just matches the rest of the robot, giving it a nice detailed good sized head. Just thought I'd put this out there, getting to do my first photos and comparison with both. I'll see if I can get a few photos up tomorrow for fun or for those that haven't put both side by side. Yes please provide the photos if you get a chance. This has been the only thing that bothered me about the GX-31 Voltes. The size. It is just way too small. I really hope we eventually get a larger sized version via a DX version that is approximately the same size as the vintage Popy version.

Copied from Yexel's FB site. Looks like it stands over 6 feet. Awesome.

If I had that 6 footer Voltes, I would never complain about GX-31's size ever again. LOL

I came across this video, it's from the original US voice dub of Voltes waaay back in the early 80's. I figured I'd post this here in case anyone was looking for it. I used to own this on Betamax tape, but my copy's so mangled and I'd been trying to get find a good copy for months now so I can share this with my kids, (sure the original Japenese audio with subs are out there and more superior but kids below 9 years old can't really follow the story without the English Audio format ). I was surprised to find the whole thing posted on Youtube, all in one video, as opposed to the video cut into pieces. There used to be another version out there called "Voltus" from Hi-Tops video, but that had completely edited out the death of Kenichi's mom episode. This video clip I posted has that episode, in all it's tragic glory. Plus the "Voltus" version also edits out the Volt-in sequence theme song. There's also the English dubbed by Filipino voice actors (the only way to watch the complete series in English Audio) but I feel it's not as good as the original US dub video (no offense to the guys who did the Phillipine-based English dubbing). Thanks Baron, I managed to pick the Hi-Tops video too back in the day too. I just never watched it until a few months back, that's when I realized how heavily edited the Hi-Tops version was and I decided to hunt down the original version. I was pleasantly surprised to find the whole thing on Youtube Gold

Hey Gold is that the only video? Did the company actually finish the complete dubbing of ALL episodes?

Yeah, far as I know that's it for Voltes from that company.
The only company to actually fully dub Voltes in English up to the last episode is the local company here in the Philippines (sorry, I can't remember the name at the moment). They aired the whole thing on TV, then finally released the whole thing on VCD format at video stores. I think it's still available for roughly $43? The dubbing isn't that great though.

Well that blows I have the complete version you are talking about but I was hoping that the US-English dub you showed had everything too.

I was abruptly awakened at 6:30 this morning by a neighbor of mine frantically knocking on my door and telling me there's a fire. In a state of controlled panic (if there ever is one such as that) I grabbed all of my important stuff and bolted out of the building. The fire was pretty close to our place but thankfully the blaze was immediately contained. Guess what was part of my important belongings that I saved? My prized gx-31. I left the rest of my collection at, what could've been, the mercy of the fire. I hope that unfortunate event never happens to me.
This my deserve its own thread here but I just have to pose this question to everyone here: If faced with a similar situation and you only had one toy to save from your collection, which one would you take with you?

Dude ... I am thinking too hard and I can't pick just one !! I simply can't !! I even tried to semulate this situation and I found myself grapping many of them as I am running threw the room to the door!! I think I will save my kids and wife but go back to the room and stay with my toys man!!

I would never save this toy or any of them. This is what fire insurance is for. This SoC is easily replaceable. It is not some rare hard to find item or anything. The only way I would consider saving anything is if it was given to to me by someone special that is no longer around and has deep sentimental value that can't be replaced. Or maybe production sample that is one if a kind. But any regular release toy, I can buy them again. My wife, child and the rest of my family lives are much more important.

I was in this situation a few months back. I could see a fire located about 200 yards away and rising about 5 stories high. My first thought was the kids, ringing my neighbor's doorbell, who were all asleep, and getting away in the car. Insurance or no insurance, it doesn't matter. Fires can spread very fast and fortunately, the firefighters were already on the scene.
Note that the fire was caused by teenage kids smoking. They burned down their tree house and were lucky that only about 10% of the main house was affected.

@ supergetterv and mtmte586: I totally agree with you guys. Human life and the ones we love are the ones that matter the most. The question I posed is in the same vein as those "what if" things

Started rewatching the anime, which made me take the toy out of storage to play with it.

My GX-31V has been on display inside a glass case since I got it. Hands are not sticky but the hips are SUPER loose. They can't hold any pose. Have to have it leaning into the back of the case or it topples over.

Damn these hips, mine fell and broke the shoulder off. Been watching out for a replacement Volt 2 machine ever since on ebay. Used glue to stick it back on so my Voltes can still do arm curls though...

Voltes V! :-) SOrry I really do not have anything to add on this thread.. I am just still wishing fora GX-01 sized Voltes V.. and maybe a combination of the GX-31 and GX-31V.. you know... take a GX-31V.. but use the GX-31's Bomber/arms but with built in hands ala GX-31... Plus use GX-31's Panzer... THEN REPAINT this GX-31v ala GX-31... anime accurate colors.. :-)
