Hey buff! Sorry to hear about your SOC's. I read from an article in TBDX or another BBS that some SOC owners experienced the same thing. It was something about a bad paint job. No external factors were mentioned, like heat, or dirt/acide from sweat on their hands. I guess it's a fluke. Say 1 out of 100 SOC's get it. ah okay, so the problem is really the paint! That's what Gold was telling me as well! man, I hope the newer ones are better. I just got myself a GX-04S to replace the GX-04 that got damage. I hope this last a bit longer. In general, I hope my SOC last another 10 years of so, these are really the gem in my collection! Well the Max Factory mazinkaiser I got on the other hand had that 'styro' damage. Only a small portion seem to stick to the back of my robot's back....kinda irritating! haha!

I would suggest using tamiya model wax to have a protective barrier. It works well against oxidation of paint.
