Yeah, I didn't expect to expand my list this fast, but once I got my hands on the GX-01R and saw what it looked like in my hands, everything changed. But, because I've been collecting other figures and toys for years, I know to buy things at a reasonable price. Don't want to spend 150$ on a old GX-03. I can get the GX-10, 11 and 25 for less than $150. Thus, I expanded my list to include the GX-11, and the GX-10 and maybe the GX-04S. I'm more impressed with the look of GX-04S when compared to the GX-06. So if I had to choose, I go with the GX-04S, since the price difference isn't that big. GX-11 is already on order and being shipped to me. Cheap considering it cost me only 32$ with shipping. Someone posted that the GX-25 cost only 40$ at BCB comics, so that one is next after I receive GX-11. I'm thinking that the GX-25 cost around 48$ with shipping. Then after that one, the GX-10 cause that one can be had for 50$, 58$ after shipping. Had to add GX-10 and 11 cause they are relatively cheap and goes great with the GX-01R.

OK, my turn now. This is also sort of a noobie question, and I really need your help, Guys. I used to collect toys when I was a kid, mainly Machine Robo (don't burn me for this...), Old Takatokus (no valkyries, though...) and when I moved to the US, Transformers. So basically I'm familiar with the engineering and material quality from Bandai and Takara. But then, I abandon robot collecting because I'm more interested in... Chicks ... Recently, as things settled down, I began collecting robots again, starting with SOC Eva unit 4, and then Grendizer, and then Voltes (on my pre-order list). However, I discovered that now Bandai and Takara are not the sole players in Chogokin! I was astonished when I learned about the Shin Seiki Gokin (Aoshima), Max Gokin, and the most recently, Brave Gokin (CMS), and to some extent, even Toynami Masterpieces. Some of their characters really interest me... Mazinkaiser, Gao Gai Gar, Godannar... And I'm thinking to obtain some of them. However, I have no experience with these companies before! Can you Guys provide me with the pro and cons of these products that are not Bandai or Takara? Are they superior or inferior to SOCs in general from the standpoint of engineering or materials? Anything you can think of! Your inputs are greatly appreciated! Thanks before... Max Gokin - For me this is top of the line in materials, sculpt, articulation and paint. They don't seem to screw around. Fairly expensive. Focus seems to be on contemporary designs (so far no retro versions like SOCs). No gimmicks like combiners or transformation, but tons of accessories and interchangeable parts. I've never heard a complaint about a Max Gokin product. They feel like a nice hunk of gold. I love them. Aoshima - Their gokins have lots of metal with a little less articulation. Decent size and decent sculpt. Price is average. Focus seems more retro-ish so far. Not into gimmicks and few accessories. Aoshima does lots of repaints and variations, to the point of being annoying, but good solid figures. CMS - This is a complicated one to explain. They really screwed up with a limited edition release of a very large Genesic Gaogaigar that had some SERIOUS flaws in transformation and stability, and with little metal content. But the kick in the face was that it was $600 smackeroos. For many it's almost unforgivable... Ok, with that said, everything else has been pretty good so far. Focus has been exclusively on Gaogaigar stuff with transformations, which other than the big junker have been decent. Not a lot of metal, but some. Articulation is ok for their transformations. It looks like they have some interesting stuff on the horizon too. Toynami - Bad history of shoddy, underdeveloped and overpriced toys. BUT the Masterpiece Voltron really is a good gokin figure and their best product to date. Lots of metal, good articulation, decent sculpt. Hopefully this will be a continuing trend. Everyone is keeping a close eye on the upcoming Beta with high hopes. Unifive - I have to mention this because I'm stoked about their Alteisen. This is a new little divergence for Bandai that has released the SRW Huckebein that from what I've read was a good figure. No real gimmicks, some metal, price a little below average but not a large figure either. The Alteisen is up next in March and looks like it wants to do some damage.

Xiombarg, that's the kind of inputs I expect from the Robo Gods in this board. Thank you man!
That means it's pretty safe to go to the direction of MaxGokin or Shin Seiki Gokin. As for unifive, you say they're going to expand their SRW line? That's awesome, because I just love the SRW original robots! I have seen pictures of the Huckebein, but don't know the exact material or engineering quality of the figure. I liked what I see though...

I just received Dianan A GX-11 from UPS today. The box is a lot smaller in comparison to the GX-01R. Still its well worth it considering that it didn't cost that much. Gonna order GX-25 from bcbcomics now, thanks to Ataru for posting the message. Can't find GX-25 for less than 40$ anywhere.

Pace? Don't know about that, all I know is that I have 2 more coming on Feb.7. The Gaiking GX-27 and the GX-25, both coming on the same day. One UPS, one by FEDEX. I wounder who will delivery first that day. Got the GX-27 for 86$, with shipping, at BBTS's 25% off sale. The GX-25, I got at BCB comics for 47$ thanks to Ataru's post. Wondercon comic convention is on FEB. 10-12 in San Francisco and I am going to head out there in search of a GX-10. Willing to pay no more than 60$ for it. 9 years of backtracking, if I wanted all of the SOC's. But there are more than a few that I know I will definately not buy. The high price limited edition are out. The repaints, I know I don't want. Maybe except for the GX-06M. Willing to get the GX-06M because the regular GX-06 is too expensive. Willing to take the GX-06M as a subsititute. GX-13 is one that I know I will never buy. IT's too much of a space hogger. I don't want the Eva's. I have an idea of what I want out of the SOC line and I will stick to the ones I want.
